Sweep, I know I am in your doghouse now but I totally agree with this comment. If HHS had played two mediocre in state teams instead of Elder and CC, they would be 9-0 and probably in the top 3 in this ridiculous rating...
But they also would not be as well prepared for the playoffs either...
Yeah but what a sweatshirt we would have had if only..... I'll say it again I'll take playing an Elder or Columbus any day over a Holy Cross even in a losing effort. At this point ratings are ridiculous, it's all about capturing a ring. " Wonder if SK even has a ring policy?"
-
Heard the Bluebirds cancelled their JV game this week with Scott Co? Is this true?
Honestly can't believe it was even scheduled in the first place for the day after an 8 hour round trip bus ride and game.
-
Not sure that's the style of this coaching staff so I highly doubt they would upload to Hudl or much less even discuss the video.
-
I love the video on Hudl my son just showed me of coach Feggins.
Coach Feggins saying "It's not how good you are, I told these guys already, my son played at Highlands High School, you should never lose to Highlands High School, I watched them for 3 years, we should never lose to Highlands High School, to many athletes in here"
Hudl? Did you mean You Tube?
-
Does Feggins play both ways? WR and ?
-
Should they not discuss effort in the first half?
Sure post your thoughts on the first half, what went wrong, how the Elder offensive line dominated us. How we made Ramsay look like the second fastest kid on the field that night. Post away..... pretty sure there is another thread for those comments though.
-
Let me add something else here. Any ex player who was at the game should only be posting about the effort made by the Birds in the second half and the horrific injury to one of the leaders on the team for the past 3 years and what he has meant both on the field and off. I guess to post a thread as ridiculous as this after a great game and key injuries to Cowboy and Watson really rubs me the wrong way.
-
I agree this thread was pretty silly to start and is why many of us made jokes about it. With that said, your post was just as guilty as being pretty far fetched. To say a thread questioning anything about a program shouldn't be made because some players may read it is a little ridiculous. You really think kids today are going to be so distraught over a thread like this it is gonna send them over the deep end? Come on man! Lol
The boys wear big boy pants and I think can handle it. No reason to shelter them from anything that can be construed as negative. There are extremes on both ends of the spectrum and this topic is on one end and your post on the other. Sorry, but that is what I think. The boys will be fine and I don't think will be mentally destroyed because of anything said on BGP. If something like this is going to affect them as much as you fear then maybe they aren't mature enough to even log on and read BGP in the first place.
Never said they would be distraught, just a shame an ex player can not see the good in this program and challenge him as well as you to seek out the positives and post about that. This program has changed my son as well as countless others in such a positive way it's crazy. Any bashing, again especially from an ex player is nuts. If any ex player or parent has an issue with the direction of the program handle it in a private setting. PM me if you need the email for Coach Weinrich or the AD.
GO BIRDS!

If you don't like seeing them this way then stay home! As to the last two home games' date=' they were the toughest games of the year. If that is all you have for comparison, then you are short-siding yourself. I played for Duffy and we weren't allowed to remove helmets even on the bus. Weinrich also played for him. Maybe he is worrying about things more important than a helmet. All you "back in my day" people need to realize that it's not "your" school anymore. It's theirs.[/quote']
Agreed stay home! These boys work hard all year long and read BGP quite often. They shouldn't have to logon and see something like this especially from an ex player. Socks will be dealt with I'm sure, however that alone should not warrant a public thread. I'm embarrassed for whoever started this thing. I'm sure the Principal will be calling on you soon.

WC have a grass or turf field? No reason, just curious.

Highlands defense was lacking a pass rush. Why the d-coordinator didn't put any blitz packages in or cover Ramsey 1 on 1. He had all day to throw the ball then discovered he could run it to. HHS D-coordinator better get his defense figured out because they were exposed last night. Now with Abner out they are really exposed. Looks like Grfffin Urlage might need to pick up the slack big time on both sides of the ball.
With Watson going out and I don't see Urlage moving over to defense anytime soon.
-
Why defer after winning the coin toss? More than likely it does not make a difference in the long run, however with a QB as good as Hoge I want the ball. Not sure why you would give any road team the chance to gain the advantage.
Prayers out to Cowboy and Watson tonight!

Did the Elder/HHS game back in 2012 sell out?
-
Any idea when tickets go on sale @ Highlands? With this being Senior night as well the requests for tickets is growing by the day.
-
Under 7 either way.

Good. Sounded like from the update thread Hoge may have just tweaked an old injury. As long as it wasn't as bad as the Michigan QB last night. Did you see him? All he could do was turn and hand the ball off, couldn't run at all his ankle or foot was so bad.
I love me some Hoge and want to see him play on Sat afternoons. Heard BYU was there the other week watching him.
Hoge is a gamer no doubt! I'm thinking there is a different outcome yesterday if he doesn't go out for 4 or 5 full series.

Maybe SK should schedule CC. SK has beat Collins 2 years in a row Highlands can't do that. Anything Highlands can do SK can do better.
Absolutely they should! I'll even pay for the long distance call. As Campbell County has shown this year teams change dramatically from the first game of the year. Does SK beat Collins last year if they play in December? Sounds like another thread to me.
-
Who schedules these games? And Elder in 2 weeks? Just think of the sweatshirt we could have by playing a "normal" schedule.
-
If SK was 4A they would have won it every year since 08. I said it before we play with the big boys in 6A.
Not sure where you're going with this, however if Highlands were in 2A since 08 they would have won.... oh nevermind......have a great night, sorry I missed the SK/Holy Cross game this year since I would really like to see you guys play to compare.

Nice of WR#1 and family to make the drive up to see a high school football game. Great game to scout.

Thanks UK fan for updating this thread for the bluebird faithful. It's freezing here and I don't have those new fancy gloves that you can use with the touchscreens.
