Memyselfandi, you seem to know much about what was going on. So, was Coach Siple the one cussing at players? Was he the one who would tell players that he would rather be drinking beer when things were not working? Was he the one who put the offense or defense in? NO HE WAS NOT. He was the best coach they have had in many years, but was not putting up with a bunch of youth coaches who care about one kid and only one kid.Could not agree more with you. He is no coach in my book as well. For those who are aware of what was happening during the season with him, you could actually say he quit after the Boone game because his support for the program had declined tremendously. -
The babysitter won't let him log on it , and way past his bed time. Plus he was crying alot tonight.Wow UK fan must be lost for words. Go raiders -

*Bluegrass Chiefs announce two, 2010 college signings*
"Bluegrass Chiefs Head Coach, Rob Sanders announced today that 2 of his 2010 players have officially committed to play college baseball. Sam Liggett of Highlands High School has committed to play at Transylvania University, and Tony Piper of Bellevue High School has committed to Shawnee State University. Congratulations to both players."
The above post was copied from Bluegrass Baseball Club website. I thought I heard that Piper had decided not to play baseball at Shawnee State.
Piper isn't playing baseball this year and Sam Ligget was seen by Transy at a champions fall ball showcase.

Coach Sanders probably does not go to some of the big tourneys at places like Michigan, Purdue and Vandy because he does not have any players that those schools would look at. I know for a fact he had scouts/ coaches at games last year and players and parents never had an idea. If Bluegrass is getting a black eye it is because Some people are saying things that are not true to make themselves look better.
Coach Sanders has done a great job over the years getting kids the opportunities where they can play and get an education. This is an absolute joke for some one to say. When a player does not get contacted by a college of there choice because of grades, ability or laziness it is not a coaches fault. Just for the record, my son is being given the chance to play college ball. He is given this chance because he has good grades, works hard and Coach Sanders has talked with college coaches about him.
Thanks Coach Sanders for all you do!
Why would any parent need to make themselves look better when they have nothing to do with any baseball organinzation maybe its because your bluegrass is going down hill. For the record the schools that my son is deciding on are intrested in him because of showcases nothing that a coach has done for him. Not all of us are lucky enough like you and another family in bluegrass who the coach will go out of his way for. I also know several ex bluegrass players who are now getting looked at by D1 schools instead of Brescia and it was no thanks to bluegrass. :thumb:

Where might this black eye be coming from? I believe the black eye is coming from the new president of the organization. He has rubbed many coaches, parents, and players wrong within the organization.
I agree and about sixteens other families, that I know.

Best place to watch a game, and the Breds fans don't mind a bird fan every once and a while as long as your cheering on the Breds.I'll be at the NewCath game cheering for the Breds while getting text updates from the HHS/JC matchup. Hope the crowd doesn't mind the blue and white I'll be sporting. If I can't be there in person, I can still dress the part to support my Bluebirds!!! Go Birds! Go Breds! -
I would not say he a bad coach he won alot more games than i have, I think the whole thing with Bluegrass is not Sander the player or most of them really like him and he brings alot a fun for a long summer. The reason the kids left were they wanted to play in more showcases and travel a little more then Bluegrass did this past summer and yes I do think that the Bluegrass organization is getting a Blackeye but not because of Sander.
-
Colleges can not talk to Junior until after July of there Junior year, and the early signing is Nov, so no way are Juniors getting offers. Just this past summer a School came and watched a player an could not talk to him because it was before July 1.
-
If that were true about kids being good enough they will be found, then why do parents pay out all that money for there kids to play traveling ball and drive all over for fall baseball showcases and why would almost every College have one,it save the Schools money and time. At one showcase they will have many different Schools attending not just the School hosting.
-
Just in our case many Schools have contacted us after the showcases that we had never heard from before and in talking with the Coaches they have told us that is were they find most of the kids they get.
-
If a player is good enough, they will be found....communication travels very fast these days.
So your saying that if a kid is good enough he does not have to play in showcases or travel they will find him. I really don't think that is true alot of schools don't have the money to travel to see everybody so that is why showcases are so important and playing traveling ball. You may be right if the kid is a D-1 player but not every kid is a D-1 player.
-
In saying this Coach Sander does go out of his way for kids and is a great person, the only different is the Mustangs played in alot of showcases where alot of Colleges were watching.
-
Sounds more like a recruiting issue to me.[/quote I think your right? I do know that Sexton and Cottingham had alot of Schools contact them after playing fall ball for the Mustangs alot more then they ever had playing summerball for Bluegrass.
-
One would think so, But from what know the coach has done alot for him and many other NKY player's in getting them in the right place at the right time.
-
Why because nobody on SK could? all by the way you would have to play them to find out.I hope Jude runs wild on Highlands!!!! -
This could potentially be the 9th Region POY next year. What a boost for Danville.
He would have been my pick before the season. Who do you like now if he go.
-
I knew he was not happy about this past summer and had a great fall season playing with the boy's from Danville.
-
It seems to be. I wish him the best and it is a big loss for Dixie this year.
Not just Dixie but all of NKY what a great player and person.
-
I just got word from a "source" that Sexton was transferring to Danville High School.
Well it seem to be true, I wish him the best.

Kremer lead a team who on defense had three or four first team all-state player and two or three second team all-state player was the first team to be ranked in Kentucky in USA top 25.Jeff Kremer from Highlands. Played QB and Safety in high school and went on to UK to play Linebacker and stands as the 3rd all-time leading tackler there i believe -
One of the best D Ends in Highlands history MR SEACOW Abner

who really thought Campbell would have a chance? Without a running a game and a passing game that is average at best how can you expect to win!

Teegarden From Boone

I was always under the impression that Burke was the ace of Beechwood, am I wrong?
You are not wrong, Bertke is and will be Beechwood ace and pitch the big game he is a real gamer. Johnson has come along way and should make a nice 1 2 punch for the Tigers.
