People arent used to Campbell County being very good so that says why there is already 30 posts on this topic. Lets see how good they are at the end of the season.
I totally agree Shack.

Sexton had a strained forearm tonight I was told by a Beechwood faithful.
-
Alex Huesman started for the Camels in his second varsity start, Tyler Walsh came in in relief, Michael Teegarden came in to close the game for the Camels. There was another Tiger with a 4 bagger as well.
I may be wrong here but I heard that Teegarden threw alot on Saturday and then came back and closed this game. It is pretty early in the season to be putting that kind of wear and tear on your ace's are for games that mean nothing.

I heard Sexton will be on the mound for the Colonels so he will shut the Tigers down. Also since Johnson pitched yesterday for the Tigers and Bertke is out for a few weeks I'm taking the Colonels.
Dixie Heights 6
Beechwood 0
Even with Sexton pitching I think that the tigers are going to be able to put up some runs. Sexton is a good pitcher but he does tend to get a little wild he also loses most of his velocity after the first couple innings.
-
He gave up one big hit in the third that counted for three of the five. Now Campbell pitcher's were touched for three homeruns and how many times did Beechwood leave bases loaded. Great game by both teams. You're correct, but they touched him for 5 runs in the third. -
Brilz also hit a homerun.
-
They hit him.
They couldn't touch him until the 3rd but he came back the 4th and shut them down again. He was taken out because of the cold weather.
-
Campbell played Beechwood this past Saturday at Beechwood.

Sean please keep your head up you are a great baseball player and I would love to have somebody like you on my team.

Well Mr. Beanie, you must be new around here because you are apparently not familiar with Rule 3 of BGP which prohibits posting false or misleading information. I've been informed on here that no pitchers in the entire Commonwealth in Kentucky can throw in the 90's except for a pitcher from UK, Alex Meyer. You sure you weren't at a major league spring training game when you saw 95?
58Bulldogs you need to educate yourself. First of all people in the ninth region thread were talking about ninth region players not kids from around the state. Secondly, you have named six kids that throw 90 plus that is a very small percentage of high school pitchers in Ky. Also if I want to watch big time high school baseball I will go across the ohio river and watch teams like moeller.

Which Champions are you talking about, the one in Cincinnati only had 15 Schools and 2 major league scouts. And it was not called the Ohio Valley Showcase so try again. The Ohio Valley Showcase did not publish a cumulative public report that I am aware of for all the pitchers. Champions did send each participant a report individually. The pitchers threw in groups of about 5. The second to last group included Clinton Hollon (was at Lafayette, I believe, but now at Woodford County), Spencer Drake from Eastern, Tyler Arthur from Lexington Catholic, Matt Spalding from St. X, and Logan Shaftner from Lexington Lafayette. There were multiple radar guns there, including the guns that representatives from Champions used as well as about 20 major league scouts that were there. I saw numbers from a gun with Hollon that were 90-93. I saw numbers from Spalding that were 92-95. I had heard that Drake was 90 or above. I heard that Arthur and Shaftner were consistently upper 80’s and may have touched 90. -
Howie has done a great job with a new field, you will not find many people who gives the time that he does.Cooper's baseball field is maintained by a volunteer, Howie Whitaker. The infield is nearly perfect and they added "walkways" to homeplate this off season. The only problem is the outfield is still a little rough. Hopefully the batting cages will get in this year as planned. -
Like I have said before very few player are throwing in the eighty. Two weeks ago at a showcase at Champions, and out fifty pitcher's only five or six were hitting in the eighty and three were from NKY, Shumate, Sexton and Cottingham.
-
Very few player throw in the Eighty. Maybe the radar guns need to be checked.
-
NCC should be good, but talent wise i think Beechwood has alot more. Last year they beat them twice and the last game was a ten run rule and Beechwood return everybody plus Larimore.
-
I guess I was wrong if you can't name any. for one Abner was a stud when he did play but you would know.
-
Watched Shumate throw this past weekend and I think that he will be the #1 pitcher this year. WoW has he been working out, he looks great.
-
Highlands has more than their share of stud baseball player, just most of them are even better football player. I could name a few who could start for any team in NKY, but they picked football, WOW What were they thinking 4 state championships. GO BIRDS
-
I think Sexton is the hardest thrower in NKY, he was throwin upper 80's and hit 88 MPH at Champion Showcase on Sunday and Cottingham top out at 85 MPH. I know two Schools who are intrested in Cottingham as a pitcher more so then a catcher.
-
NewCath is alway strong, they should never be counted out.Heard all about the Kenton Cty schools, this is the 9th Region which will include a little ole Catholic school up on the Hill that has been known to sneak up on teams and win a game or two win it counts. Dont know what NewCath has this yr but you can be sure they will win more then lose and be in the mix at the end. -
Go back and and look at the size different in Schools, that does make a different in who you play. All right you win CovCath is the best in NKY, Beechwood and HC will not even show up for the game when they play CovCath it make no sense to. I don't know why they would waste CovCath's time.Marley, Beechwood winning 20 games and Cov. Cath winning 20 games are two different stories. Go back and look at both school's schedules. -
That right they don't, my bad they just have more boys than HC and Beechwood has Boys and girls.CCH has 8th graders? -
Come on, CovCath has ruled the 35th district because one they have more boys to choose from then any of the Schools in their district beside maybe Holmes. That would be like putting Highlands football in the same District as Dayton, Bellevue, Newport and Campbell County I'm not saying what they have done isn't an accomplishment because it is, but they should win it every year. I would love to see what the Coach in FT. Mitchell would have done with all the talent they have had, when was the last time a CovCath team had to start an eightgrader in right field and a freshman in left field and still won 20 plus games. Blow your horn all you want it does help being the big kid on the block. GO TIGERS

I just talked to Sexton's Hitting coach and he has been hitting with alot more power than he hit with last year.
