  1. They were sitting behind me while I was trying to film and I can assure you the obnoxious behavior isn't a regular at Holmes games as that is where I usually film from.

Speaking if film, I will post the pregame ceremony and highlights sometime tomorrow. Busy day for Walter as it is the lady's bday and her brother is also having his send off ceremony at Harrison Co high school for his third tour. Not sure how much I will be home.

Boring game tonight but great atmosphere. Thanks to everyone on here that showed up. I know this was an important night for Coach Booher and I'm sure he is appreciative of the support.

THREE TOURS! THANK YOU and may God watch over him!

  2. noticed last night that HHS does not have a "true" PG. Why do the Birds make Witte work so hard to just get up court and into the offense? The guy inbounding the ball had no defender pressuring him. He would inbound the ball to Witte, who's being dogged by #20 all over the floor, and then run down court. Does that man not know how to set a pick? Or bring True up just over half court and set a pick. A good hard pick by True would have had the much smaller #20 at least looking over his shoulder. When your PG is NOT a PG, maybe the staff could arrange some help for him so come 4Q there's something left in the tank?? There's no help on the bench. And did a HHS player play JV and then START varsity? And if this is correct, is that allowable?

  3. Unless the organizers have changed their reasoning, this game has been traditionally utilized for players who do not have offers but could play in college. This was primarily for player that need exposure, not to list the best players in the state.

My son played in this game and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. You have to be nominated and then the player has to accept to play. Some players don't accept and another player will get an opportunity. I can't believe anyone would decline the invitation, unless they had a REAL good reason. KY beat TN that year and my son and his fellow teammate garnered the Defensive MVP and Game MVP honors, respectively. The Border Bowl experience is a VERY fond memory in my son's HS FB career. (which includes a couple of SC's). He did NOT get a scholly from his effort there, but has gone on to play at D1 level and a couple college bowl games. Many lower division colleges contacted him from the BB game experience, he just had his sights set on playing at a higher level. It was a very 1st class affair!

PS. Did anyone ever turn in my wife's camera that we lost? lol! A lot of GREAT photos were taken!

  4. I get it. They are not really a big deal, and aren't shaping up to be. The fact that a coach like Butch Jones thinks he can do better says it all.

Crunch...you cut me to the quick! When all is said and done, I will expect and accept your apologies (or a beer!). ALL coaches think they can do better...outside of 10-15 BIG time programs. Heck, the B1G Champ/Rose Bowl coach just bolted for Arkansas! WHY can "a coach like Butch Jones" think he can do better? Because UC FB has succeeded. All we need are facilities and fannies in the seats...which is difficult in the 'Natti with it's notorious fickleness. But UCFB IS shaping up to be a big thing....recent BCS bowls, MULTIPLE conference championships, players to the NFL...and doing it with multiple coaches says more about the FB program than getting lucky with a coaching hire. It's attitudes, masses and media, locally that UCFB has to change. Hold the Rope! It's coming....it's been proven before.
