  1. To all Highlands fans, just ask and I'm available anytime to help out anyone that wants to learn how to do this.
  2. Met "Henry" tonight at the Highlands tailgate party. How's my credibility look with my prediction? Ryle with a serious punch in the mouth with a 90 yard TD drive to open the game. First personal foul on a touch back that I've ever seen put Ryle back on their 10 yard line. Highlands took the punch and answered in Highlands style. When does the fast running backs in Ft. Thomas mold get broken? I thought the score would have been closer if Ryle had played more field position football as the average yard line to start a drive had to be their own 45. But Ryle probably knew it was their only chance to win. I was impressed with Highlands pressure on Hempel. If Ryle is #2, could be another uneventful year in Nky for Highlands. (except for the trip to Park Hills of course) :dancingpa To clarify I was just walking through the tailgate party and as I was about to get beat up, Henry saved me.
  3. Yes Old Guy, you are very observant. We are going to give the webcam a shot. It's not going to be TV quality, but you should be able to tell what's going on. We won't be able to do every game, but this is a big one and out of town as well.
  4. Great story about the St. Joe's Bluegrass Bowl of 1999. The J-man, Jason Elfers was a freshman at U of L and he had to listen to all of this new Louisville friends tell him how St. X was going to trounce the Colonels to open the season. Well, do you believe in miracles? CovCath pulled off the upset 24-14. The Colonels went on to finish 4-7 and lost in the first round of the 3A playoffs by 5 to Harrison County. St X finished 14-1 and beat Bryan Station by 3 in the 4A championship game. A side note, that CovCath team was led by QB Brett Dietz. When Dietz was playing in arena football he came across a player with the St. X championship ring. He showed the player the 14-1 record on the side of his ring and Dietz told him, "hey dude, I'm the 1".
  5. That's the plan. I just hope I don't get Pipped!
  6. Lots of points to lots of points. Team with fewest turnovers wins.
  7. Hey there Leatherneck! We hope to be getting some emails from you again this year on the air. I would agree with Oscar that using the typical comparisons to Highlands may be a bit unfair this year considering that the Bluebirds are in the discussion as the #1 team in the entire state. Successes are not always going to be measured in wins this year in Park Hills. There is an excitment in town that's been missed. I like what these guys are doing and I like the attitudes from top to bottom. I've also heard rumors that there is a commitment from the student body to show up in force this year no matter what. That is also progress. I don't expect 55-0 at halftime this year. I do expect this team to improve every week and by week 12, who knows. It's going to be fun. The best of luck to your birds and may they have a healthy season and they need a box of tissues while leaving Park Hills!
  8. Click here for a link to our broadcast of the CovCath/Holy Cross Scrimmage.
  9. Hey Old Guy. Good to hear from you. Thanks for the plug. Yes, what you've heard is true, and I'll be missing my first football game since our first broadcast in 2005. Good reason though huh? There's a good chance we'll broadcast something. Possibly get some interviews afterward. Thank goodness for CovCath. I don't know what I'd do being an empty nester! You can give me some tips Old Guy.
  10. Thanks BBF. And from what I remember, I'm looking forward to some excellent, yet lengthy assessments of NKy basketball!
  11. CovCath Internet Radio is online! Saw the Blue/White on Friday and came away impressed with QB Erpenbeck's foot speed. The passing game is coming along. Slabaugh the running back is elusive. Michael Robinson showing great leadership around the team. It's going to be a hard year for Michael to watch each week, but him being around is going to pay big dividends for his teammates. He was also voted a team captain. Don't judge this team week one because they are going to improve each week. It's going to take some time for the boys to latch on to this new system, but I'm confident they will.
