I just saw an email come through on the coaches listserv with "HCHS Head Football Coach" included in his email signature. So that should seal the deal.

I'm hearing some talk that Coach Ford's resignation came due to health reasons. Especially considering his age, I hope that isn't the case.

Coach Ford has resigned as head coach of the Lakers.

Looks like Coach Payton is a Fort Campbell football alum from the early 90s. He played football at Kentucky Wesleyan, and played for 9 years in various indoor/arena football leagues. Started in coaching in 2003 as an assistant at Fern Creek, and then switched to coaching indoor/arena football up through 2019. He has had some extensive experience as offensive coordinator, and spent one year as head coach of the Massachusetts Pirates in the IFL. Spent 2020-2022 on the coaching staff at North Oldham High School.
