A twenty win season would be great, but if they do not quite reach that total why would that be a disappointing season. Why is this schedule any different than schedules of the past several years that have not produced a 10 win season? If you really check the schedule you will see it is probably tougher than the past couple of seasons. Why would you even question their size or talent level? Are you a full time scout? You do not know the amount of hard work and how much heart these young men have. Instead of trying to give backhanded compliments why don't you just wish them good luck for successful season.
I don't think he meant this as a backhanded compliment. He simply meant is as, Bracken County's schedule is reasonably easy, and they have the talent to win 20 games.

Despite their recent loss to Trinity, Seneca has cemented them selves as legitimate contenders for the 7th Region title.

So will Pittman be suspended?

Let's don't get carried away and start fueling anyone's fire!
Overlooking, or disregarding Mason County is a recipe for disaster. We've been practicing for Mason County's 1/2 court trap since the conclusion of last season's regional tournament encounter in which we trailed 34-2 at one point. Their program has earned our attention and respect. We are of the belief that to be the best you have to beat the best, and until we clear the Scott and Mason County hurdles, you will hear no such chest-thumping from us.
We appreciate the kind thoughts, and I sincerely hope that you are correct in your assumptions. The Scott Eagles are an excellent basketball team, and our encounter on January 2nd in Alexandria should speak volumes to just who is deserving of the Number 2 (or Number 3) spot.

Shows why no matter how many times Brossart beats your school, it's hard for you to dislike them!

Why was Highlands missing so many players?
Grote played, but was hampered by injury. Kowolonek was out with a knee injury I believe. And Grubbs was out of town for the holidays.
-
With the low scores Mason County has been putting up this year, most definetly Brossart is Number 2.
I would put Scott at #3.

Possible semi-finals rematch with Clark County in the Republic Bank Classic is interesting. Then home games against Seneca, Male, and Eastern and a trip to Jeffersontown are going to be tough as well. Can the Rocks continue their strong play and finish in the top 3 of the 7th region, or have they peaked too early?
With that schedule we will certainly find out how good Trinity really is.

The Breds improve to 6-3.
The Wildcats fall to 5-5.
Should be a great 38th district tourney as all of these teams could win district this year.
Right now I would have to rank the 38th district like this:
1) Nicholas County
2) Harrison County
3) Pendleton County
4) Deming
For the first time in years, it's truly a four-team race for the 38th District Championship. Should make for an exciting postseason.

Even without Grote and Kowolonek, Highlands beat Mason County. This score shocks me. I at least expected this game to be competitive.
-
At the beginning of this tournament I called Clark County the best team in the state.. I stand corrected.
-
Congrats Bracken and good luck in the championship.
Always a battle between these two teams.
We will see you again at Pendleton on January 5th.
I had this wrong in my prediction thread. It's a messy round robin system. But in a nutshell, Cordia lost to Whitefield Academy. Which means Bracken County and Pendleton were the only schools with 2 wins in their pool. This means the head-to-head outcome is the tiebreaker. Which of course Bracken County won tonight, advancing them to the finals. If Cordia had beat Whitefield Academy, Pendleton would be in the championship.
Anyways, congrats to the Polar Bears on a big win. They slowed down this high-scoring Pendleton County offense and made them grind it out in the halfcourt. Freshman Mason Monroe had a potential game-winning shot from just inside halfcourt rim out. Tough loss to swallow for the Wildcats. They take on Harrison County at 6:30 tomorrow in the 3rd place game.
-
If my math is correct, Bracken would have to beat Pendleton by 64 to advance to the championship. Should still be a highly competitive game though.
-
Pendleton wins big again. Big showdown tomorrow against Bracken County at their place in what is essentially the semifinal game in this round robin style tournament.
-
It appeared in the second half several Bracken County players were talking trash to the Pendleton County players from the first row of the stands. Should make for an interesting game Tuesday. Just a little more gasoline thrown on the fire of the Bracken-Pendleton rivarly.
-
This is clearly a 3 team tournament with Pendleton,Harrison and Bracken vying for the first place trophy. The Bracken-Pendleton game on Tuesday will decide who plays Harrison County for the championship on Wednesday.
I would consider it a four-team tournament. Greenup County vs. Harrison County should also be a good game.
-
Pendleton cruises to a first-round win in the First National Bank Classic at Bracken County.
-
Not to take anything away from Trinity, but this makes Holmes loss to McEachern look bad. They're supposed to the best team in Kentuckey, but they haven't looked like it so far this year.
Congrats to the Shamrocks
-
It's certainly not unrealistic to say Clark County is the best team in the state right now.
-
Why is it that the other teams manage to win with the same refs?
Obviously NCC hired and payed them!
-
If your son is a freshman, you've got a long four years ahead of you.
Especially if refs are to blame for everything..
-
Mason County this year is Setty and Gilbert and last year's JV team, this may be a chance for some teams that haven't beaten them in the past to win this this year. Is the transfer from Montgomery playing? Think they will miss Barner's athleticism this year.
Yes, the transfer from Montgomery County is playing. His name is Logan Manship. He's currently the 7th man i believe.
I agree with you about missing Barner's athleticism. Before the season, it appeared Mason County and Clark County were on the same level. It appears early on that Clark County is pulling away fast from Mason County.

Rescheduled for Sunday
Today's games are rescheduled for tomorrow, but Monday through Wednesday's games remain the same.

These are the pairings for Bracken County's holiday tournament. It starts Saturday. Any thoughts? I would consider Pendleton County and Bracken County the favorites entering it.

Greenup County
Lloyd
Pool 2
Bracken County
Cordia
Pendleton County
Whitefield Academy
Saturday
1:00- Greenup vs. Augusta
2:45- Pendleton vs. Cordia
4:30- Harrison vs. Lloyd
6:15- Bracken vs. Whitefield Academy
Monday
3:00- Harrison vs. Greenup
4:45- Whitefield Academy vs. Pendleton County
6:30- Augusta vs.Lloyd
8:15- Bracken vs Cordia
Tuesday
3:00- Harrison vs. Augusta
4:45- Whitefield Academy vs. Cordia
6:30- Lloyd vs. Greenup

Thoughts?
Harrison County is surely the class of this district as always. Pendleton County returns a lot of talent as well though this year. Deming and Nicholas County lost a lot though.

I believe Elijah Pittman will not be playing in this game for the Bulldogs. That could shake things up. That being said, I think Holmes will still win.
