  1. The catcher for Pendleton is really impressive. Is he a senior? If so is he going anywhere next year? Silver Grove is playing much better this season. Senior Center fielder Travis Baumann has to be hitting close to 450 this year and short stop Justin Smith has provided some good hitting as well. Third basemen Briley Seiter does lead the team in RBI's from what I have heard. They have some solid players besides those three including freshmen William Govan and Zach Louden.

Pendleton is turning things around in a real positive manner.

  2. I know a few Alumni who would be outstanding coaches at Bellevue, or any where else but I don't see any applying with the constant second guessing of the AD and the Administration.

Maybe if you did not allow yourself and/or showed support for the adminsitrators below you and not let them be second guessed you would not have created such a monster that control is lost!!!!!!! This is a shame too because there are alot of people with great passion for Bellevue and its tradition.

  3. Why did he resign?

There is a thread that discussed the district tourney game. I am sure what was said in that thread plus some other issues raised by parents had a lot to do with this. I am speculating but that is my guess. Good young coach maybe needed time as an assistant before jumping into a head coaches job...still.....................Bellevue needs stability in the coaching ranks.

As far as hiring a graduate Tommy Sorrell is a very good example as to what this can lead to.............he is a stable para professional who will be coaching the girls (and coaching them well) for as many years as he wants. Several years ago they could have moved him up as he was the boys varsity assistant but instead brought in Kent Vories.

  4. Ahh... I see you and goahead feel very passionate about this situation and your making your comments heard. Interesting how that works?????

Ok first I have no "passion" for this situation. I just think Coach Miller is an excellent coach since his days at Holy Cross as an assistant coach. Now I will agree with Khalid on what seems to be transpiring at Walton.......................but you seem to very defensive of the Walton Verona group which if nothing had gone wrong would not need defending............................Yes there are some excellent people at Walton, however obviously something has not gone right.

  5. Passion = stupid comments and inappropriate behavior? If this were the case I know some people who need to be viewed as passionate instead of labled what they really are. Bottom line it is obvious that Coach Miller is taking a high road and is not really saying what has caused him to resign so all this is speculative. However........................I think it is safe to say that there have been some issues in that program that have caused problems for coaches. Time for the administration to look at what is going on and correct the problem instead of changing coaches.

  6. Yes this game is mandatory due to district seeding.............so it must be played. I know on the baseball side Brossart, campbell, Scott all earned victories in five innings and piched some one well down the list as far as pitchers are concerned. Silver Grove on both baseball and softball are going to run some middle school players and freshmen out into the starting line up. When some players are 12/13 years old most teams that are really top notch adjust.

  7. Highlands leads 1-0 going into the bottom of the fourth. Without a routine pop up dropped by the left fielder and a routine ground ball muffed by the second basemen in the 8 run CovCath fourth it is at worst a 2-1 game going into the fifth. Highlands on the right track just a few crucial mistakes. This game was much closer than the final score indicates............Highlands is well coached and can give team fits later in the year...

  8. You see that alot with teams and the people who are keeping the books. Some do it by the book, some do it by there own book.

This is an issue that will always be seen around baseball and softball. You see kids with unreal stats then realize on one team a ground ball through the short stops legs ends up a hit while somebody else rules it correctly as an error. Over the years you see a definite pattern with certain schools and coaches that have inflated stats..........Unfortunately this just hurts kids whose coaches/score keepers do things correctly.

  9. Nick is currently the AD at Bellevue. My point would be not to say anything rather than emailing the press and making statements that are not coming true (and again perhaps through no fault of his own). Also......................if it is indeed dealing with teaching positions then Nick really has very little say in the hiring of the coach. The SBDM council would be interviewing the teaching/coaching candidates and making their recommendation.....
