I would say that the top 5 are SL, Clay, Bell, Middlesboro, and WC/Corbin at this point. I honestly don't think anyone outside of these 5 even have a chance.
-
Did this game really take 7 innings?
-
Does anyone know anything about Murray at all. I have no information to base a prediction on.
Not knowing anything, I think if Middlesboro pitches Pittman, they win.
If Middlesboro pitched Pratt, it will be a ballgame.
If they pitch one of their other pitchers and try to save these two pitchers, which I doubt will happen, then they will have to play the best defensive and offensive game to win.
-
Good win for WC. Tonight is the one that matters.
-
Corbin beats them by as much as they want to. Williamsburg is in the middle of an absolute tailspin.
-
South sweeps. Enough said.

This game will take place on Saturday morning at Applebee's Stadium in Lexington. I know absolutely nothing about Murray so someone from out west can fill me in on what kind of team they are.
I do know Middlesboro has good pitching and at times, pretty good hitting with very average defense. It would depend on who they pitch for me to predict whether or not they would win this game.

It seems that the hit that made the difference would be the one that "someone" got to put Mason in that position. But still sounds like a great job on both of their parts.
Read my post again. Someone was on second and Mason got the hit. That was the biggest hit of the game. The person on second got there by way of a leadoff double.

Talked to my friend from Middlesboro this morning and he said you couldn't have asked for a better pitching performance from either pitcher. He said that one base hit made the difference in the game and it was the one that the Mason kid had to score someone from second. He said that Raceland had a couple of opportunities to do this as well but Pittman closed the door.
He said Pittman had 14 Ks and 1 BB and while he didn't know the stats for the Raceland kid, he would guess that he had about 9 Ks and 4 BBs but was equally as dominant.
I think Middlesboro plays Murray in the first round.

Wow. Big win for that Middlesboro program. Looks like Powell has them back on track.
-
Someone beat me to it but...handily. haha. Congrats on great blowout win.

Anyone know the pitching match up for Friday night?
I'm pretty sure it will be Wilson for Raceland and Pittman for Middlesboro. Obviously, I'm pulling for the 13th region in this one. But I still don't know who I THINK will win.
-
Final. I heard Middlesboro through Pratt to save Pittman for the Raceland game. Nonetheless, I heard both Pratt and Greer pitched really well. Middlesboro gave up 2 unearned runs and that is what beat them. Should be a good rematch in their district championship.
-
Handily.
-
This is unbelievable.
-
It says on KHSAA that they will play Friday night at 8:00 at Middlesboro. I guess it is a long drive for Raceland to get down there.

Middlesboro also has a good lefty. I remember him coming in against us in the Regional Semi-finals two years ago as a freshman and pitched very well. I also saw him pitch against Williamsburg in the All "A" last week and while he didn't look 100% sharp, he had some good stuff. Very good change but not so good curve.
-
Not so fast there cards1b21, South struggled with North and Whitley handled them ahhhh I guess you could say "Handily"
If Clifford pitches, I think that Whitley will be the favorite. He has been very strong on the mound. If Whitley can score some runs they will be in good shape. Ledington will return to the dugout Monday and be there for the forseeable future, which is good for the Colonels. I think that it is good that the game is being played now, I think that once Josh Smith gets into better shape for pitching and Hendrickson comes around the Hounds will be better, but right now I think Whitley could be the favorite in this game.
We pitched off against North. That is the only reason the score was so close.

It will probably take me a week to decide who I think will win. Something a buddy of mine reminded me of is that Middlesboro plays Bell County early in the week with district seeding on the line. Sadly, who they decide to pitch and for how long in that series could have a big factor on the outcome of the Middlesboro vs Raceland game. Does Raceland have any big games before Friday?
-
Corbin. Handily.
-
I don't know much about Middlesboro.
Raceland has played a strong schedule, and has done pretty well so far, they have fallen short a few times in games that could have went either way.
Wilson is a very good picture, Barr, Huffman, Reid, and Carver seem to be playing pretty well.
How hard does Wilson throw you think?

Who wins this game?
This game will take place at Middlesboro sometime this week.
I know nothing about Raceland other than they have played a pretty solid schedule up to this point. Can anyone close to the team tell me about any stud pitchers that might be thrown?
I have only seen Middlesboro once and that was down at Williamsburg when they were knocking the cover off the ball. I have heard they are somewhat streaky with their bats. I do know that their stud pitcher (Brett Pittman) has been out a couple of games with a strained quad but have heard that he will be back this week. Don't know if there is any truth to that or not. However, if he healthy, I'm sure he will be throwing in this game. He throws at about 85-87 with a pretty good change and an average curve.

Are you sure that Bell even went to SC? I believe their spring break was taken, as was some of the other schools, due to missed school days this past winter. I may be wrong, but I don't believe they played any baseball in SC.
It was shortened but they did go to Charleston, SC later in the week and I heard they lost 2 of 3. If they don't report those scores, they could get in some trouble as it is clearly stated that whenever a team takes the field against another team, at a date after that of the start of the season, then it MUST be counted towards their record. There are no scrimmages allowed past that date.
Better get on the horn Bell County.

I don't want to get in trouble or violate any rules on here so I will just say that it was passed down by KHSAA. I won't go into the details.

Actually, if SL wins tonight, they are the #1 seed and it didn't matter if WC beat us last night. So really, tonight's game is the one that matters.
