With the " Big Four" as they are known in the 14th Region( Hazard, PCC, KCC, & LCC) receiving all the media attention, IMO there are some other teams that are having good seasons, Cordia has an above 500 record and played KCC on their home floor to within 6 pts. and was runners up in the Powell Co. tourn. JBS'S record is 8-4 with 4 losses to quality teams and was runners up in the Johnson Central tourn. beating Prestonsburg and defeating Johnson Central on their home court by 16 pts. Buckhorn is a good but young team. This is not including Lee & Wolfe Co. seasons. Sorry this is a little off topic but that might help answer some of the above post questions because these teams do not receive any Media attention.

JBS lead by 8 at the half, 20 at the end of 3, and went on to win by 14. Stepp 24pts. Childers 17pts. Howard 13 pts./6 rebs./4 assists, Collins 12 pts./9 rebs./7 blocks/3 assists, Hall 8 pts./12 rebs./4 assists. Good regional win for the Crusaders. First year Head Coach Josh Cook and JBS extends their record to 8-4. Good luck to the Bobcats the rest of the season.

WOW this is a surprise. IMO I felt KCC would be able to compete with these down state teams and were playing well but these two losts were by double digits and today was a pretty sound beating. Maybe the tough schedule is starting to take its toll on the KCC.

JBS extends their record to 5-2 with this win at the Country Music Highway Tourn. JBS was led in scoring Braxton Childers 18 pts., Garrison Collins 15 pts./ 6 blocks/ 5 assists/ 4 rebs., Brent Hall 12 pts./ 23 rebs., Clint Stepp 11 pts.. JBS and 1st year Coach Cook extend their record to 4-2 with this win over Pburg in the Country Music Highway Tourn. Led in scoring by Stepp/16 pts., Childers 14 pts./ Collins 13 pts./ and Brent Hall with 13 pts./ 10 rebs. This Hall's 6 consecutive double-double game. JBS will play the host team Johnson Central tonight ( 12/21) at 8:30.

I seen somewhere on another site that Brent Hall had 4 double-doubles in JBS's first 4 games. Hall is a 6'4" senior forward for JBS. If I remember correct, I think he was awarded the WYMT tournament last year's 110% award because of his hustle and hard nosed style of play. Don't quote me on this but I think this is right.

Congrats. to PCC on the win. I read earlier on another site about refs. bad calls. IMO it will take the Blackcats a little time to adjust from the physical play of football, but having watched Pburg play some of the non-football players seems like they need to adjust their style of play to match the way the refs. are calling the play. As the old coach would say " fouling becomes a habit". Pburg will be a better team as the season progresses and a contender for the Floyd Co. District title.

Good win for Coach Josh Cook and the Crusaders. LC made a run in the fourth qtr. cutting the 15 point lead to 2, but JBS was able to make just enough free throws to hang on for the win. Brent Hall had a huge night for JBS with 36 pts./ 17 rebs., Garrison Collins 13 pts./8 rebs./ 8 blocks. LC's Frasher had 22 pts. and Baldwin had 14pts.

IMO this will be a good test for both teams. The contrast in different styles of play from each team will make this an exciting game to watch. Played at ALC. Given homecourt advantage to JBS by 10.

JBS will go after it's second win tonight against Jenkins. JBS by 15+

Will be a good game to watch. Coach Honeykutt will do what he has to keep this game close but the inside game of JBS, Hall and Collins, will be a problem for the Lions. Should be the first win of the season for Coach Cook and JBS. The players that are out due to being sick for each team will play a factor also.

Coach Holland is doing what a Coach should do when a school is still involved in football and honoring his commitments to his schedule and playing his younger players thus giving them experience that will payoff in the future. I wish schools such as Breathitt Co. would have done the same. Back to topic, Hazard even shorthanded will give PCC a tough game but giving the Home advantage to Pcc by 5

Closer game than I expected. Does any have any stats on JC Tigers for this game?

Lawrence Co. will have a tough time matching up with Hall and Collins inside for JBS. Also JBS has some good perimeter shooters in Stepp, Slone, and Childers. The quickness of LC could be a problem for JBS, but if they handle the pressure of LC's press, IMO the Team will give Coach Josh Cook his first win as a Varisty Head Coach by 10.
