John is rolling pretty good right now. The passing game has come a long way since the beginning of the year, and it came up big against Oldham County. I have only seen Anderson County play once this year, and it was very early against Meade County. They seemed to be a good team but did not have explosive players. There QB looked good when I saw them. I predict John Hardin wins by 3 TDs. I would be interest in knowing what Colonel Mike thinks, as he has seen both teams late in the year.

Looks like there are a few close games, but again a lot of blowouts

Thanks for putting the time and effort in to do this statman. I look forward to these every year.

Since Joseph is in a contract year, they need to resign him first. If they don't, we're looking at a huge CB need.
-
Frankly, I would like to see both games.
-
Lesnar also has to learn how to put people in the guard. He has no defense when he's on the ground. He basically just covers up his face and tries not to get hit.
-
John Hardin currently has a 12 game home win steak as well. Last home loss was 12/5/2008 in the state semifinals vs Christian County.

I'll take John by 3 TDs. They're starting to put things together.
-
JH by as many as they want.

John is really starting to put things together. They have a pretty young team and struggled a bit earlier in the season. QB Mitchell is really gaining some confidence and is a much better QB than when the season started. The bad thing is John's toughest games have already been played, and it should be a pretty easy road to go undefeated the rest of the regular season. I wish they would stop playing these types of teams and start playing some better competiton. Rather than play the Marion County and Dunbar's, they should try scheduling some of the tougher Louisville 6A schools.

Can you imagine the fan reaction if these two schools never played each other? People that are not high school football fans may not care about this game, but those of us that enjoy high school football love this one.

This one won't be close. The 42-7 score seems about right with the JV playing much of the 2d half.
-
Don't have any stats, but this wasn't even close. It was 39-3 at halftime. Second half was a JV game.

My boss just told me a Joe B. Hall quote. After a game he would look at the stat sheet. When he saw zeros, he would say "same as a dead man."

A team running a one-dimenstional offense can (and has) won a state championship. A program a running multi-dimensional offense will win more state championships.
Totally agree. The one-dimensional offense is more the exception than the rule when counting championships.

At this point in the season, they are not as good as last year. They lost QB Dingle, who was a 3 year starter and a real leader on the field. This is QB Mitchell's first year, and he is going through some growing pains. He showed great improvement last night and has things going in the right direction, but Dingle is hard to replace. The o-line is really struggling this year and are missing too many blocks. The guards must be disciplined when pulling and find someone to hit. The RBs are better this year (I think). Savoy is back and is having a great year, and this year they moved Jeremy Harness to the backfield from WR. He is very, very good. The defensive line this year really dominates, but last year's LBs were better.
Overall, this year John has a good team but has a ways to go before overtaking last year's team. As for beating Highlands, not right now but there are several weeks of improvement that can be made until they will find out.

Here's the link to the local paper giving a recap of the game. John is starting to put some things together. QB Mitchell played his best game of the year thus far and is starting to gain some confidence and making some good throws. The defense (especially the line) is really coming on strong. John really has to stop getting so many unsportsmanlike and unnecessary roughness penalties. That could come back to bite them in the playoffs.

I watched the Meade County game Friday night and watched the John Hardin game Saturday night. To be honest, both teams have a lot of room for improvement. Both teams had way to many penalties, turnovers, missed tackles, and missed blocks. Since it was week 1 I guess it can be expected, but neither team really impressed. On the bright side, both teams have some explosive players and the ceiling is pretty high. John Hardin has Landon Savoy and Jeremy Harness that can break a long run at any time. Meade's QB (Number 7) is very fast and hard to tackle. This should be a good, close game.

Unless you are illegally working in this country, I would assume one would always sign on a dotted line somewhere agreeing to the terms of their employment. Just as Revis did.
Agreeing to work for a certain wage, yes. However, most employment agreements do not include a term length. I am working legally and did not agree to work at my current job for a certain number of years.

Roman Empire and HT the next time you are offered a better paying job or think you deserve a raise remember this conversation. Turn it down and continue to work at your current job.
Did they sign a contract at their current jobs?

I'm an "honor your contract" guy, and yes, I think owners should honor it as well. I'm hoping, in exchange for the 18 game regular season, the players get guaranteed contracts in the next CBA. Maybe they could work something out that if a player is cut, his salary would not count against the salary cap, but the player still gets paid according to the contract terms.

I would think Chad, TO, and Shipley are givens. If healthy, Bryant is a given. Although some may disagree, I think Caldwell makes the team. That leaves one spot for Jones, Cosby, Simpson, Purify, and Briscoe. To me, it comes down to Cosby or Simpson, and there are four more preseason games for that to play out. While Jones did make a couple good catches Sunday, let's not forget that he wasn't exactly playing against first team CBs. The training camp reports say he is very slow and not really impressing anyone.

Yes it was. Anderson County has a very good passing game, and their defense did a good job in slowing down John's offense. This game went back and forth and both teams left some points off the board. Great to get out of there with a win and a home game next week.
