  1. I definitely agree that you don't want to stay at the Travelodge. Newport's Comfort Suites or the new Holiday Inn Express in Bellevue are what I'd recommend instead. Both are close to the bridge you would need to walk across.

Holiday Inn Express in Bellevue is actually pretty nice, its only about a year old, so obviously newer rooms with Flat screen Hd tvs in them.

You are walking distance to the Buckheads restaurant, Newport on the levee and can take a 1.00 bus ride over to the game.

I'd go to Montgomery Inn for dinner, larosas for lunch and gameworks for entertainment.

  2. Ouch!

You know, I never thought the MP40 was all that big a deal, but I guess I wasn't paying attention. I've noticed more and more that when I'm getting killed, it's by that.

My favorite gun to use is the STG-44 followed by the PPSH. This game is nowhere near as good as COD4, and I don't have a reference for the ones that came before it, at least not on the consoles. I played the original on PC, and it was alright. My biggest gripe with WAW is the tanks. If you're playing a map with tanks, it's going to be a bad round right away. So Roundhouse, Seelow, Downfall, Outskirts, all terrible.

Try playing the hardcore mode, no tanks at all...

  3. If I do bad in my first couple games I play something different. There are so many random grenade kills its not even funny, and then when u sit there and shoot someone forever and then they shoot you one time and you die, that is the absolute worst way to die and ticks me off the most.

I also like Cod4 better but still play World at War.

Are you playing hardcore? Sounds like you are not.

  4. This may be the worst Reds offense in many years. Yes, I know Votto is out but these guys are professionals and has to do better. We can't hit off of the worst pitching staff in the Majors. I don't believe the hitters are aggressive enough. Many time our hitters take the first two pitches for strikes and an 0-2 hole is not a ticket for success. These guys swing and misses more pitches right down the middle than more little league teams. Dickerson pitch hits last night with a man on and he does not take the bat off his shoulder. Phillips will get a big hit but swings wildly and seems like grounds into a DP once a game. Gomes and Nix have struggled lately but seem to have a idea at the plate. Hernandez and Hanigan seems to get us the best AB. I keep thinking it is going to change but it has not yet.

I was reading that the Reds have scored 12 fewer runs than this time last year, despite losing Dunn, Jr, Edwin and Votto for most of the year. The offense is down but i wouldnt say its the worst in many years. I think our small ball has gotten a lot better this year.

  5. I don't know if this the rumor that LABS is talking about, but last week I told The Scribe and spindoc my theory. Now I have absolutely no evidence to base this on, but my theory was, that Votto is gay, and that he is having a lot of trouble, anxiety, about being the 1st active professional athlete to come out of the closet. Once again, let me say that is just a theory on my part, and one that I have no evidence whatsoever to support.

I have heard the above and also the brain turmor rumor. Untill i hear something from Votto/Reds im not putting much stock in either. Let the guy work out whatever it is and lets get him back physically and mentally healthy.

  6. Great point! Herrera has done a great job all year outside his first appearance.

I have been really proud of the way the Reds have battled and never given up on a single game this season.

I just wish the fan support were there... I always said if they put a winner on the field the people would fill Great American Ball Park... But I guess I was wrong. (They must have come to see Griffey & Dunn put up more losses than wins) :idunno:[/

Per Lance on 1360, overall major league baseball attenance is down 5% compared to last year. Sign of the economy. GABP attendance is down less than 1% this year compared to last.

Also factor in weather, school still being in session and having the third from last in metro population in all of Mlb. There you go.

  7. This one belongs to the Reds!

Huge lead off, pinch hit double by Gomes! Than CoCo slams the door!

I was at the game, Gomes was pumped up after he hit that rocket down the third base line. He might not be the answer but i like his attitude and he should have been in the opening day roster over Mcdonald.

  8. I can't figure out how your agent works. My agent made us wait 3 days for them to accept the offer. I have signed the contract 2 weeks ago and we don't close until June 24th. :ohbrother:

My agent must work like yours, the contract was signed a month ago, I dont officially close until May 29th.

    Congrats on the house Rocket

Rip up those carpets in the bedrooms.

  9. I had mine taken out about three years ago. Only one was slightly bothering me but decided to have them all taken out at once while i was under. Mine were pulled out and not cut out. No problem with dry socket here. I was in a little pain the first day but by day 2 i was eating pizza and actually went to a Reds game.

  10. Question of those of you who watched the game Tuesday night? Was Michah Owings ejected in the 8th inning for hitting a player? I read this on the internet, but I didn't think that is what happened.

He was not ejected but im pretty sure right after he hit the guy Dusty brought in the bullpen.

  11. You just read my mind completely. Last night I was emotional, but now I'm playing hard ball (where's the punching smiley when I need it?) They're gonna come my way with these closing costs if they want to move up the closing date.

I thought most of the time the seller pays closing costs, or the seller will counter by bumping up your offer by the amount of the closing costs.

  12. Edwin comes off the dl today, what does Dusty do?

Keep the high energy, "Sabo" momentium at 3rd with Rosales or does E-5 go right back in the lineup?

I'll admit i'd like to get more of a look at Rosales before im officially sold but i still think he should be out there.

  13. The bottom line is that he had 4 balls hit to him last night and he made 0 plays that he should have made. It was terrible judgement by the official scorer. I would be peeved if I were a pitcher and they were calling those hits.

They said something about west coast infields being cut shorter, maybe the rookie just didnt take that into consideration(minus the one hard hit ball that he backed up on). I'll look for him to make the adjustments inbetween last night and tonights game. That being said, i would still rather have him out there than Edwin.

  14. My point is that the Yankees are always within reach or are battling in the play-offs year after year after year.... have seen the reds there in a very long time.:idunno:

Very Long time? 2006 the Reds were in the mix up until the last couple weeks of the season.
