Hate to hear this.
-
Holmes almost closed the door on it up 5 with the ball, but missed an open look from 3.
-
12th straight year for me.
-
Can audio from the game or updates be found on the web? Any help or updates on the game would be appreciated.
-
Any details from the game? Scoring, etc.
-
Eastern leading 41-24 going into the fourth quarter. Manual only scored two points in the first quarter.
-
Knox Central... But, as Chris Berman would say, "closer than the experts think..."; 57-51
-
Clay Co. - 55 , South - 49
-
Top bracket has more balance top to bottom; Wouldn't wanna be in the way of J-town or Ballard in the bottom.
-
1. Rondo
2. Mashburn
3. Prince
4. Anderson

1999-2000 year for the Somerset upset of South Laurel. I remember South being over 20 points higher than the next team in the 12th in the Cantrall rankings. Mercer County ended up going to Rupp that year if I recall correctly.

Great to hear. He seems like a warrior, really liked his game from what I saw against Scott Co. in Memorial.
-
Wayne County would be my sleeper pick.

2nd - Christian County; Tough, physical, play hard, and they've been there before. Highly rated, but not generally thought of as a contender. Would give them much more of a shot if they had a better draw. *(Sat in front of their coaching staff at the Sweet 16 last year, they seemed to be a class act.)
4th - Warren Central; See Christian County.
5th - Adair County/Bardstown; experienced teams with solid talent, each have split trips to Rupp over the past two years, both are tournament tested and have a nice draw.
9th - Boone County; Have been to the state tourney since 1998 and haven't seen them there yet, but they have already crashed some of Holmes' party.
9th - Highlands; Usually talented, stocked with bulky, tough athletes from football, and could frustrate teams by grinding it out.
9th - Covington Catholic; Have been there before and have a solid staff that knows the ropes. They're being overlooked quite a bit in 9th Region discussions because of a rough start, but I wouldn't want to play them.
11th - Henry Clay; Wouldn't wanna play the Devils and Prince Stewart in a one-and-done. They play hard, team-oriented ball; the sophomore they have in the post (#34) has developed pretty well over the year too. Could see them spoiling someone's party if they're overlooked.
11th - Tates Creek; If Fucci can get healthy, the Fucci/Barkesdale combo could pull an upset. Like Henry Clay, I can't really see them getting to Rupp, but they could spoil someone's plans in a hurry. Also, Breeden seems like a good tournament coach (two straight trips with Owensboro), I'm sure he's got plenty left in his bag of tricks. They've already played Scott County close this year.
14th - Hazard/Perry Central/ Knott Central; have some talent and a good draw. Would only have to play one game over their heads to make it to Saturday night. You know how the crowd loves mountain teams as well, so plenty of the neutral fans will probably be won over to their side.

I took the initial question to mean Regional Tourney MVP, usually the highest scorer on the winning team.
If it's P.O.Y. that gets an All-Star Try-Out, I'd have to go with Crawford or Strange.
If it's MVP, then that's much more debatable.
Breeze: Reed is the combo guard from Clay Co.
-
Most likely Crawford, St. John, Reed, or Miller.

Knox Central.
*No one had them yet, so why not?

See the momentum swinging toward Ballard going into the 4th. Have to wonder about fatigue for Elliott Co., Ballard has been running players in and out all night. Cox is starting to heat up.
-
Watching online... commentary said that Ballard has never had a losing season in school history... amazing. Is T. Knipp in foul trouble? Haven't seen him in the 2nd, but I just tuned in.
-
Any anaylsis of the game? Did both teams just seem content to stall, poor shooting and sloppy play, or a combination of? I heard that Strange had 25, I'm guessing however Calvary tried to limit him was ineffective.
