From the 13th Region, but:
I really like Christian County's style of play, and hated to see them go today.
I can't think of a team in the past 10 or so years with worse luck as far as drawing a bad first round opponent when they are up.
Their last four trips have been tough ones:
2002: vs. Male, lost 69-61
*Male had 3 All-Tournament Team Members: Johnny Mathies, Michael Bush, and LaVar Carter,
2006: vs. Shelby County, lost 71-65
*Shelby Co. with A.J. Slaughter, now at WKU
2007: vs. George Rogers Clark, lost 77-71 in OT
*GRC with Preston Knowles, now at UL
2009: vs. Holmes, lost 72-61
*Pittman, Johnson brothers, Riley, & co.; Previous State Runner-Up
:idunno:
Anyone else have some examples of a team with 3 or more instances of a bad draw in the same span?

Holmes 13, Christian County 10. End Q1.
CC's pressure has turned Holmes over, but they aren't shooting especially well.
-
Best game of the tourney so far. Bowling Green was impressive.
-
Should have been a charge on Sanford.
Agree 100% Les.
-
46-42 LC leads with 1:30 in the 3rd.
-
Now: 25-20, Bowling Green by 5.
-
Bowling Green leading by 7. Surprise, surprise.

Is basketball a Performing Art?
Classic. I rarely laugh out loud when reading BGP, but this post was an exception.

13th is my home region, but I'm going to have to go with Eastern on this one. I'll still be rooting for Corbin, but I think that Eastern 70, Corbin 58 is more realistic. Hope I'm wrong though.

I'm not following the logic. If Harlan County replaced Knott, the quality most years would not go down.
Referring to the original district proposed by sportsmaniac:
Just seems as though that district was too top-heavy. I definitely think Harlan Co. Central will be good in time, but are still building their tradition.
Eliminating two of the Hazard, PCC, KCC, & JBS combo before region would seemingly be disastrous considering that Whitesburg, Powell Co., and JBS have each had runs to Rupp, and are the only schools outside of Hazard / Perry Central to do so in the past 12 years. I think KCC's size alone makes it one of the few that can compete with Hazard and PCC (evidenced this year and last).
Also, if the regional sites were rotated according to district, PCC and KCC (two of the nicest facilities in the mountains & state) would be battling for the privilege of hosting.

Does West Jessamine have anyone who can match-up with Justin Jones inside?

Tonight will be about redemption for three teams:
Holmes takes the next step in winning the tournament that they same so close to.
Lexington Catholic was eliminated by Holmes on Saturday morning last year.
Elliott County was defeated by Shelby Valley in the All-A Classic Semi's.
Should be interesting.
