GCHS needs to run the ball more as they did this past week, as I stated earlier, it opens the passing game up and vice versa, that has been our issue this year, we haven't put it on the ground in order to compliment the passing game, our running backs need to touch the ball 20 - 25 times a game in order to open up the passing game as sideline doc stated, it will open up play action and various other passing options. We have some play makers, Eric Craft (of course), Corey Lyle, Smitty and Terry Waugh, they make things happen when they touch the ball and we need to spread it around to those that are play makers both on the ground and in the air.

I honestly don't think Coupon21 was trying to say anything more than Lyle was not getting the ball much at all. I took it that Coup was implying that for GC's offense to do anything, they need to open up the passing game by running Lyle more. How many touches did he have prior to the Lawrence Co. game? If you use him as a feature back, I promise you, someone will be open off play action.
Trudat!

Spread the wealth.... Use all the talent, a good run game makes a good passing game, a good passing game opens the run up and defense wins ball games, period.

Great job GCHS!!!
-
The power game may come into play for GCHS
-
Rister could start this year on many teams.

Frustrating
-
Defense wins the ball game.
-
This will go down to the wire, Defense wins the ballgame, whoever plays the best D wins.
-
Great D by GCHS pulls them through, great heart!!!

GCHS Needs to win this game
-
GC will pull this one out with emotion, passion and defense, yep, I said D! They will start playing some good D this week and it will carry them to a win.
-
Doesn't surprise me. GC's freshman kicked butt last year, a lot of great young talent coming up, the Fres and Soph class is a good one
-
GC pulls this one out with great D, they are starting to hit and show some passion, they have played some tough teams and the final score of each was not even close as someone said in this thread but the last game against the pirates they showed some heart, first time this year.
-
GC needs to improve on D. This team has all kinds of talent. The soph class has only lost 1 game in three years. The team has winners on it, they just need to have more passion and emotion, show some fire in the eyes. When they start hitting like they all can and things start clicking like this team is capable of doing, good things will start happening for the Muskies

There is to much focused on offense at gchs practice and not on defense . The boys don't even get to hit that much so when it is game time they are not ready for the challenge . I hope something changes and fast before the boys just give up.
Me too

Coach Fraley will have them back in the top, the soph are very talented, the next three years at GCHS will be fun to watch, especially when the sophs are seniors
-
Greenup had several sophmores that did not play

Russell looked very good. Congrats to Russell on the win and good luck the rest of the way out, I look for them to be at Papa Johns again this year. Greenup will get better as the season goes on, I look for them to be strong toward the end of the season
-
LOL I love seeing Russell so underrated.
Russell by 5td's or more. They only didn't score on one drive all preseason. And Cabel and SV are 10 times the teams GC is.
However of there is a lot of cramping due ot heat, Russell only by 21.
Unbelievable!!!

Lyle was averaging approximately 8 touches a game running the ball, he touched it 23 times Friday night.
