Well it looks like if he wants to play AAU it might be time to start thinking about it. As my pappy once told me it is better sometimes to throw down a little fertilizer than to buy a whole new house. I guess I don't understand the thinking behind not letting our players participate in something that can only make them better. I think this is a factor but I'm not completely sold on the fact that it is the problem all together. But for the sake of arguement let's say it is, then who or whom is responsible for this decision?

OK so we have ruled AAU and consolidated junior high schools out. I'm beginning to think it is a decreasing population, the emergence of Rose Hill and a concentration on football at Ashland. At Boyd I am still clueless.

Could a Boyd Co. supporter please chime in.

I believe Whetsel played for years with the Rose Hill kids. So will the powers that be not allow Whetsel to continue his AAU activities?

ACE makes a good point about AAU. Thomas and McDavid had extensive AAU experience. I have some questions concerning this. Who is stopping them from playing? is it the coach? ad? who? Now the other side maybe nobody wants them, I mean are the Matt Thomas of the world good because of AAU or was he good enough that someone wanted him on their team?

West maybe but based on the full body of work there is no way that East is in front of Rose Hill.

Not trying to stir anything but after the Rose Hill game Biggs seemed irritated about a couple of the questions. Maybe he was frustrated over the loss. However, I too have been around the Ashland program for a long time, we seem to be similar in age, and I can assure you that certain people have great influnce over the direction of the program.

In Boyd's case maybe the addition of kids from the Ramey home have had negative long term effects.

My bad. What I have been told there is way to much outside influnce on the program from some boosters. If you listen to the post game interviews with Biggs there seems to be tension between him and one of the announcers.

They started bringing in kids long before Arbaugh. Chuck Cantrell who ended up as their alltime leading scorer was brought in from CK back in the 80's or 70's.

No question. I think LRCW is onto somethings but I think the middle school arguement doesn't hold water. Ashland did away with the two junior high system in the late 70's or early 80's and they have had some good teams since ie 1996.

Sorry ZB didn't see your post before I posted. I thought this years senior class at Ashland was supposed to be a great one. It was my understanding that that was one of the drawing cards for Biggs.

Bringing in a whole new staff sure has worked for Boyd.

Since everyone else seems to put out a poll I thought I would give it whirl. 1. Elliott - I mean is it even debatable? 2. West Carter - Has played #1 better than anyone else. 3. Rose Hill - Hottest team this side of Sandy Hook. 4. East Carter - Win over West may get them going. 5. Fairview - Last second win at Ashland not that impressive. 6. Bath - Blew big lead against Rose Hill but still 12-3. 7. Morgan Co. - Plays in toughest district solid record. 8. Greenup Co. - Enigma. Looks good one day bad the next. 9. Ashland - What can I say. Best moment for a month was a close loss. 10. Lewis - Best of the rest. 11. Raceland - Boyles makes them dangerous 12. Menifee - Better than expected and better than in the past. 13. Russell - Based on win over Rowan 14. Rowan - Based on Loss to Russell 15. Fleming - Because Boyd is still fielding a team 16. Boyd - Because there are only 16 teams.
