  1. Hold on a minute. I didn't know that you were blasted. At least not by me. I'm not going to argue over something this silly. And I don't think that the Boyd team is bad at all. And I'd gladly admit it if Boyd was as good. I just don't see it. There always seems to be an excuse. Too old, couldn't break the press. Poor coaching, whatever. I'm finished with this considering we have run this thread about meeting the devils into the ground over something not remotely having to do with Russell.
  2. Lost by alot. I'm not sure of the final score, but I think it was 30+
  3. Unless the scoreboard was wrong, RH 7th won by 23. Starters didn't play the 4th quarter. Perhaps not 50, but considerably more. This "old" thing is just that----old! As far as Russell is concerned, I too believe that they are so thin in talent that they have no choice other than to have a talented young kid play up to get some valuable experience. He may be all that they have in a few years.
  4. A. I didn't know I had to answer to you for where I post, nothing here was an attack on anyone, nor have I remarked about your derrogatory posts in threads that don't involve your allegiance, which I wouldn't have enough time in the day to compile. B. I expected Montgomery to be a tough test for Ashland, and I figured it would be very close in the score one way or the other. C. If you would like to further discuss any and all matters regarding basketball or anything else for that matter, please unroll your eyes:rolleyes: and PM me.
  5. Yes and it's good to know that at least in Martin county that "mall hair" is still alive and well! Miller was a beast, Hopson seemed a bit out of control and trying to press.
  6. Goodness, I hope for you Elliott posters that somehow the season doesn't fall short of a trip to Rupp. It sounds as if they've already punched their ticket. I agree that Elliott should be the favorite, and I don't think you'll find too many folks in the 16th who say otherwise. You get a poll from Louisville that says otherwise and the lid pops off the pressure cooker. I hope the boys aren't as overconfident as some of the posts here. There are IMO a handful of teams that on any given night can advance. Good luck to all and I hope every team avoids the injury bug.
  7. 2 different players IMO. Euton can score better IMO. Jackson has as good a handle as anyone I've watched.
  8. They have 2 seniors. I have a feeling you'll get tired alright. Good luck this season.
  9. MHighfield, I apologize, you were speaking of the JV, not the varsity, I misread. You are correct, 41-11 was the JV score, we had 4 8th graders on the floor. Diffucult task as Mason is very deep. Great Gym! Good folks!
  10. Classic. I was at the entire scrimmage. I wrote the scores on my checkbook because I figured that there'd be some different report of the score. The scoring per quarter for the first 4 were this: 1st Mason 24 RH 14 2nd RH 20 Mason 15 3rd Mason 25 RH 14 4th Mason 26 RH 21 I have no idea where 41-11 came from. Darius was a man among boys and proved to me at least he's the best our state has to offer. Mason has a very tall lineup that shoots it very well and plays great pressure D. They are also very deep. I thought Euton was the best shooter on the floor hands down but Mason made it difficult to catch and shoot as the scrimmage rolled on. Jackson was the only answer for the Mason pressure and when he didn't have the ball, RH struggled with the press.
  11. Wow, I don't know what to say to this post. I've been a long time reader and recently joined to post. Wasn't it you who was adamant recently about "homegrown kids"? I believe it was in a recent thread that you gave a local school grief over such issues. Now you say that young Skaggs was content to play LL bball vs. a challenge like a traveling team we are all familiar with. Now you say that you'd explore more if your child was that talented. So which is it? You like homegrown unless it benefits a talented kid?!! So, to be clear, exactly how do you stand? If young Skaggs transferred to Scott Co. to play baseball or basketball, would that be okay? If so, how does that differ from the very issue with the neighbor school that you were so staunchly against? I'm just curious!
  12. I suppose Kleenex would be in order, those darned ole CJ polls! This is going to be a point of contention all season isn't it?
  13. I'm expecting Hillary to say that she thought they deserved a medical card!
  14. Wow, how can you get that torqued over a preseason poll that means nothing? Let it go man, it's the end of the season that counts. It's okay!
  15. Sparks is a terrific player, that should bode well for the Rams.
  16. Didn't Timmy Knipp play on an AAU team that had Rose Hill kids on it? There's the difference, Rose Hill has other kids on their teams, Greenup, Ashland, Ironton, Elliott, Russell, and those kids benefit, as well as theirs. Pretty good deal if you ask me. I saw that team play and they looked very good with what appeared to be the best of that age kids in the area.
