Not because a UL fan, but why is it offensive? It was a Halloween party, right? People dress up as all KINDS of things. If this was some sort of YouTube video with accompanying racist remarks, and it wasn't Halloween, I could see some outrage. But my nephew is a PhD student there and totally belittling the entire UL board and staff as indicative of racism. I'm not getting it.

I'm not much on hacking on coaches. My biggest complaint about coaching was the end of the first half. UK had the ball around midfield with 4 min or so left and was snapping the ball with 20 seconds on the play clock. Milk the clock a little and limit MSU opportunity to score if they get the ball back.

Plus, two or three years since joining the league UofL is involved in one of the most publicized scandals in years.

Bottom line is Pitino is doing what he always does. Taking hard working individuals that have some potential and getting the most out of them as he can. Can he win a national title this year? Probably not. He doesn't seem to have a group of horses to string together enough good games, but anyone who thinks his ponies can't pull an upset on any given night better remember he won a LOT of games with a bunch of nobody's at UK and that Mashburn fellow.

 

(And I am a die hard UK fan but all the UofL piling on over this scandal is getting a little crazy. It is something that should have not happened but it is not near as horrible as what was going on at UNC. It is sexier since hookers are involved but not worse for college athletics to me.)

I'm not so sure I agree with the last paragraph. UNC was academic, which in a way makes it worse but let's no down play an assistant coach paying for prostitutes to have sex with players, recruits, and their guardians in a university dorm. That's pretty bad. Not to mention the head coach, AD, or University President wasn't paying attention. Of course it only happened 20 plus times over a 4 year period.

Best conference in the country beside the NBA West. Also a lot of scandals as well.

The ACC has to be thrilled with the events at Louisville and Syracuse. Of course, UNC will be found innocent.

College game favors great guard play and UK has great guards. Let's face it, UK had a great team last season but WCS was a liability on the offense end. No such liabilities this year. On the other hand, last years team was historically good on defense.

I think Matthews will be a very good player one of these days.

Why would McGee continue to pay on his own dime even after he left Louisville? I think that is a difficult thing to explain.

I think Pitino had to know something was going on but it will never be proven and it doesn't have to. There's enough evidence to cause UofL serious problems.
