  1. Yes, the game is at Silver Sands Middle School in Port Orange, Florida. Anyone with a GPS will be able to plug it in. There is people in the area of Daytona excited about the tournament and the competition involved.

I will be taking pics and posting them on the website for everyone to see when I get back from the games. Great weather by the way, 80's. :walk:

  2. Just so I understand, you're saying a team that is good, shouldn't leave their players in, if playing a team that is not equal and are behind?

Anytime you have a score like this, it's a direct result of both teams. The ability of one team to score and the inability, of the other team to stop them.

That is what I am saying.

But, don't down play the behind.

    The final score was 132-67.

  3. I totally disagree with you. I cannot disagree more with your thoughts on this. This is varsity high school basketball - its fair game for 3 quarters. Elliott's coach was very respectful by not playing his top 7 the entire 3 quarters. They could've won by 100 points if they wanted to. Are the players supposed to be benched after 1 quarter because they're too good? They have to get minutes to stay in rhythm and prepare for the team's ultimate goals.

Thank you. So far your are the only one trying to make sense of all this for me.

I still disagree. But its a start. Being bench after one quarter is a little extreme. But some more rotation is needed.

70 some points came from 2 guys.

  4. If many Elliott supporters are agreeing with leaving the starters in (which they weren't left in too long, but that's another issue) than that would indicate that a few Elliott supporters disagree with the decision. So, where are the posts of Elliott supporters that disagree?

That is the issue.......Yes they were in the game too long. When one team beats the other by over 50 points and 2 of the starter score more that the other team by themselves THATS TOO LONG.

Well, thats a different direction on the comment.

No EC posters that I know of.

I said many just in case they was someone out for EC that I agreed with me on this matter.

Didn't want to leave anyone out.

  6. Is this not your statement:

    :sssh::confused::confused:

You are confusing yourself. That is my comment. Does it match up with what YOU said ?

  7. I definately knew you wouldn't call anyone. You are right, it's not your program and kid's so why not leave the dead horse alone. Oh! what about the trying to get the thread closed? You didn't make a response to that.

You are basically the only one complaining now. I mean think about it dude....the Boyd faithful says everything was kosher and no one tried running up score, BUT YOU are still on here complaining about it. Give us a break!!!!!!:thumb:

Not trying to get it closed........Look people the score was ran up. IT WAS !

When get get back to talking about it, but it keeps getting taking to a personal level instead of a discussion topic.

Be more creative, so we can keep going.

  8. You're You're the one making the comment that in most games like this "starters would be out 2-4 minutes in the 3rd qtr. and wouldn't return". I don't believe you ever played in very many organized sports or you wouldn't think this.

I can't believe you haven't got kicked out of here yet.

  9. Don't know why you keep beating a dead horse! Well I do but I cant post it on here. Here is Coach Mays basketball office number he would be elated for you to call him about this. 606-738-8060

You should be sorry for sticking up for the less known players because you don't even know them and you are the only one who has a problem with how things are being done. Even the Boyd Co fans that were in attendance say there was no problem with Mays sub-patterns but you still try to make an issue of it. Maybe you just want to get the thread close. If it bothered me as bad as you let on I wouldn't open any Elliott thread's!!:thumb:

P.S. Wake up ! I am not the only one complaining about this over the last 2 years.

Also I am on here for entertainment. I am not going to call anyone. Its not my program and its not my kids out there.

  10. Elliott Co is not usual!! The highlighted is entirely up to the coach. Not up to fans or spectators or critics whom have never coached a single minute of high school ball and probably wouldnt have the guts if someone asked them to!!!

You over stepped a little on some of your comment and I'll just leave those alone .......You are right though about its up to the coach as to when he pulls his players back.

You have players on EC's bench that practice hard all year and deserve to get in the game a little more. Anyways, I am sorry for trying to stick up for some of Elliott Co. less known ball players.

By the way, its that kind of thinking that actually makes you a good coach. Not beating a teams by 40 to 50 points just because you can.

  11. I didn't mean to imply that Elliott Co. was running up the score. However, if you go back and read many Elliott Co. supporters were quick to point out that "the starters only played the 1st and 3rd quarters", this makes it sound like Elliott Co. was able to beat Boyd Co. by such a large margin with 2 full quarters from only their subs. That obviously wasn't the case--they may have only played as a unit for the 1st and 3rd quarters but they were mixed in throughout the game. :thumb:

Usually in games like this all starters are gone with in 2-4 minutes in the 3rd.

No one see's them again unless the point difference get below 20.

Absolutely NO need for them to get back in the game.

  12. Why isn't Mason Co. ranked in the N.Ky top ten? They are not considered by the area coaches to be a N.ky team. Case closed.

Royals don't get into the NKy ranking, the eastern ky rankings, and the central Ky rankings.

Who's going to claim us ? Until we win the title then the media says we are just down the road.

  13. No. I didn't go to the game. You can play all the "team" ball you want but if you don't have the talent you will probably lose.Team ball will not make you jump higher, run faster or shoot better.

Yeah, heard it all before. Talent just ensure that you have a good team.

Nothing more than a pretty paint job. I like these Kentucky teams and would trade them for hyped up players across the river.

  14. I dont know if some of you fans ever get out of Salt Lick any but too say Elliot County is the best team in the state is just plain ridiculous! I do agree, they are no doubt one of the top ten teams in the state but definately not number one! I have seen Elliot play this year and they are very good but for instance if Elliot County played a team like Duncanville, TX like Scott County did they would get run out of the gym by 30+ points. I am 100% hoping Elliot County does great this year but I am just stating facts.

I completely agree with the entire statement.

Also for the record I wish EC the best. I love seeing small schools succeed. If the state championship banner gets raised anywhere other than inside Royal Nation, I hope its in Elliott Co.

  15. Cincy plays a better brand of ball than N. ky.

Cov. Scott is a ways down the list of top teams in northern Kentucky let alone Kentucky.

Cin. Moller from what I here is a top notice school in the state of Ohio.

Cincy and Ohio has more talent. But, a better brand of basketball ? Unless your are talking about the actual basketball, then I would have to disagree.

Teams from Kentucky usually play "TEAM" basketball which allows them to compete with much larger and talented teams.

Did you watch Mason Co. beat Cincy St. X ?

This is supposed to be a down year for the Royals.

  16. Timmy Knipp had a nice dunk, Bad Call on the T for hanging on the rim, also knocked the lights out on three's. Ferguson and Faulkners looked great. The whole team looked like the best in the State.

Elliott Girls 70 over East Carter 66 in 2OT

It takes a lot more than a dunk and a 40+ point win over a winless team to be the best in the state.

You also mentioned the whole team..... Any stats from bench players?

  17. Mason Co played poorly .No way this team wins the tenth region.Sloppy passing, poor three point shooting.Once they decided to play in the fourth quarter the Eagles didn't answer the challenge. You kind of had the feeling Mason Co only plays when they have to.Eagles will be plucked by the Crusaders today by 25.[/quote

But,they are good enough to beat Cincy St. X !!!:D

Yes , the Royals may be an underdog in the 10th this year, but to say they have no chance ?................:madman:

  18. If X scores 60 points I will be surprised. You think Highlands works the ball for a good shot, X will put you to sleep running their offense. They graduated a lot of talent last year, Massa was hurt during the football season I do not know if he is even back yet. The game will be in the 40's or 50's unless somehow Mason can get baskets in transition and force X to play way faster than they want. I am sure X has talent but it is not Varsity experienced. With that said I like X 54-45. GO BOMBERS!!!!

Oh no !!!!.............How did an Ohio fan get on here !??????
