I think that the end is getting close for hiring a new coach. I would guess that by the end of this week we should have someone named... Would Larkey from Rockcastle Co. be a good fit?

Someone else mentioned Johnson Central as being a team that they MIGHT play in the Rax Bowl (first open date). Anyone else heard this? Breathitt, Hazard, Lynn Camp, Somerset, Middlesboro and Johnson Central is a pretty good schedule. I don't know anything about Powell, Estill and Fleming....But this is still a pretty good first year schedule.

I'm not sure if that will be the first game. The original poster stated that they weren't sure the order was correct. Regardless would HCHS be an underdog to Hazard? Serious quesion. I don't think they would be.

What??? I disagree with this even more than your North Carolina comments on the BB forum. I don't think they will be able to "run the table", but how can you say they will be an underdog not even knowing who they will play that first game? There is PLENTY of talent here regardless of the population. It will all depend on how well the new coach can evaluate that talent and put it to use.

George Massey, Charles Tinsley, Anthony Ravizee (Morehead St.), Ryan Duckworth, Eddie Creech, Matt Haynes, Jamal Battle, Sanford Baskin, Bobby McIlquham, Eural Allen, Kenny Smith, Roger Chapman all from Cumberland that could have or did play D1. I know that I left some off. David Hensley and Scotty Russell from Cawood and Evarts. If you would have added some of the Evarts, Cumberland and Cawood teams from the past....MAN!! Watusi...it's fine. I just didn't want to do anything against forum rules...

Man, you sound like there aren't ever any transfers to other schools. Why the Cumberland/North Carolina reference? It could be easy to look at any roster and say something like that.

I was listening to the local (AM) station and it was kind of "fuzzy". If someone can get us a correct score I'd appreciate it and I apologize.

From my understanding the game ended with both teams getting into a scuffle. I don't have any details and don't want to speculate as to what happened. I know Jerry Edwards and Lewis Morris and I believe that both of these coaches coach their teams to play the right way. Maybe someone that was at the game can provide some details...

Big win for the Skins.

Final in the Wymt Classic. Hazard plays June Buchanan for the championship. Cumberland plays Pikeville for third place. Good win for Hazard. I believe that these two teams play at Cumberland later on this season.

Hazard has played well down the stretch. Again, Whitaker for Hazard is basically the difference.

Whitaker is the difference right now. He is driving and dishing and the Skins aren't doing a very good job of defending him.

This game was on the internet through WYMT. Hazard and I think Clay County are on right now. Knott came out and shot 60+ percent from the field in the first half. They have a very good ball club. I don't know a lot about them but I believe they have a young team.
