Apparently they had over 70 students show up to the first official team function last night.
I'd be really really curious to know what the numbers breakdown was, by class.
Time will tell, but there is a great staff in place and given a few years Great Crossing will be giving most teams a run for their money.

1) Stadium of Champions - Hopkinsville/Christian County - It makes me sad how poor attendance is in that tremendous venue. Admittedly, a lot of my love of this is colored by how friendly it is for me as a filmer, but it is a fantastic venue.
2) Pulaski County - Beatuiful stadium and an absolutely gorgeous view looking out from the stands.
3) Highlands - While it was a pain to park, I really love the on top of the action feel and the way the buildings sit so close to the field.
4) Manual - It's been years since I've been there (2006), but you could feel the history in that stadium.
5) Russellville - It's worth it just to see the gate and the elevated corner in the end zone.
Pulaski sure isn’t for the field, that field is horrendous, they do not take care of it.

1.Johnson Central- other than the sounds guy very great atmosphere
2. Corbin-parking is horrible or it would be 1
3. Middlesboro- the brick walls around the stadium create a very unique old school look and back in the day no one left there with a W.
4.Hazard- the walk up to the field will leave every opponent out of breath.
5.Wayne County- very underrated atmosphere.

1.Mayfield
2. Danville
3. Paintsville
4.Highlands
5.Dayton

You don't think Belfry will be tough this year?
I must have completely overlooked Belfry when I glanced at it last night.
-
They should win that district. Ironically Paintsville; Pikeville, and Raceland are 1a schools that will be tougher than anyone in their district.
-
Sad to see their series with Williamsburg end, that seemed like a good game for both teams.
-
Any word around eastern Kentucky about this job?
Silence, I spoke to one of the coaches in Harlan’s district yesterday and he hasn’t heard a single name on the grape vine.
-
Williamsburg needs to hold on to Herron but good sources have told me his days are numbered as he's looking to hang up coaching.
-
There should still be a ready for play whistle, play clock will just be running before it’s blown, similar to college and nfl.

Got away from this for a while, but with the new rules being released for next year seems like a good time to start back.
7-2-1 After the ball is marked ready for play, each player of A who participated in the previous down and each substitute for A must have been, momentarily, between the 9-yard marks, before the snap.
This rule is basically designed to keep players from standing near the sideline and acting like they are in the game on trick plays. For those that don't know the 9 yard marks are the big numbers on the field. This is a call that honestly a crew will miss if they aren't really paying attention to the players between the snaps, especially when a team is running a hurry up.

Jackets could win 7-9 games with this schedule and the new district. Kids are excited and believe they can win. Things will turn around and French will win at least one if not two playoff games this year.
-
Anyone know what his first schedule is gonna look like?

Will be making my first trip to Corbin, for their bowl games.
Eat at Shep's place downtown, if I don't have a game that night I'll treat ya.
-
Chappell will be amazing there, I’m sure he will be glad to not have an administrator calling his offense for him anymore! I’ve called several games when he was coaching and you will not find a higher class person to lead young men.

With two kids at Middlesboro Elementary this hire really has me excited for the future. My kids at this point in their life don't know what Middlesboro football can be and for them to have a change to get some great memories growing up now means a lot to me as a Dad.
-
Good hire by Jackson’s county AD. Wes Bishop knows what he is doing, it’s a tough job, but they got a good one.
-
Press conference for French is tomorrow at 4:00pm at the school cafeteria. Great hire for the Jackets that will help bring them back. With the new district and region I suspect French will win a region in the next 3 years. Maybe more than 1.
-
If he can keep the principal from running the team for him should work well. Still bothers me they fired a coach that was 2 points literally in game 9 from a district championship.
-
Figured some people may wanna watch and root on a hometown kid for the million dollars! His name isn’t a Nick Wilson.
-
Middlesboro will go from a 1 win team to region champ next year.
-
Curious how Pineville responds, if they don’t make a good hire could be death kill to their program.
-
Who wants to play high school football in January, yuck.
Kids looking for a last minute offer I'm sure do. This was mostly started as a recruitment tool for University of the Cumberlands and then it grew and newer board members and sponsors moved it away from there.

This is really helpful information.
Turning/ducking generally results in a foul call - the more common practice seems to be "covering up," which probably should be spelled out more clearly in the rules as every time I see it, it strikes me as difficult to guard someone with both of your hands covering your crotch.
I agree and 4-23-3(e) allows for the movements you are speaking of, but often times guard's aren't getting the benefit of it.

Football in March definitely gets the blood going, one thing about officiating, I’ve called college spring scrimmages the last two weekend and have em lined up through most of April, it definitely gets you excited!
Glad you enjoyed it!
