  1. I have to say that I have not seen Cooper play this year so me predicting result doesn't carry much weight. But in High School Football a QB that has ability to get the ball in the hands of playmakers is so key. Many times teams have great playmakers but can not seem to get them involved. This year Ryle has an abundance of talented folks on offensive side of ball and has a QB that has ability to get it to them, and a coach who allows it. Cooper definitely has some great playmakers as well. I think between two relatively evenly matched teams, the QB and Number of talented skilled players gives an advantage to Ryle and they are able to win this one.
  2. Those teams were great with some awesome athletes. I do think this 2015 team could make a run as they may not have the superstar players those teams had but they are extremely deep and unlike 06/09/10 they run and extremely balanced offense. Something you need to do to compete with great teams. So the jury is out in my mind and if they make a run then in a few years well be remembering them.
  3. Right now no one is playing as good as SK. Cooper gets their chance to back up their talk of being top team in NKY but until they prove me wrong, I have to say SK is a better team. SK 35-14.
  4. For the first time in many Years the Birds do not have the best athletes on the field. In the past several years this has helped them beat the 6A teams as they could out Athlete them. This year unfortunately you are seeing the big schools wear them down. Cooper and Ryle both exploded in the Second half after relatively competitive first halves. Saw St. X play Henry Clay and was not as impressed as I thought I would be as I thought they may challenge this year. Overall though I expect St. X to follow suit and wear Highlands down and run away in the end 35-21.
  5. Looks Good. Clearly for the first time the 6A schools are acting like 6A schools. SK looks dominant and Ryle and Cooper keep doing everything they need to back up their claims to be a top team this year. The great thing is that All play one another this season(At least once!!!). Should be a classic 6A season and go right to the wire. We might see a good one in 5A as well as Highlands and Covington Catholic look to be much more even this year. Covington Catholic needs to strike this year as this is the first possible chance they have had in many years. Looking forward to watching this season play out.
  6. First, I never said Highlands was lousy. Highlands may win. My only point was do not dismiss victories based on early win loss records. I am sure Highlands will go on to have a good season despite their start, and Cov Cath is cleary better than 0-3 as they have played a beast of a schedule to date. I hope for another good game and enjoy that there is some competition this year to talk about in several ranks. Should be a great year for 6A to decide best in this area and also might be the first year in Ages that someone can even think about competing for 5A.
  7. So if Ryle Beats Highlands will you still say they are not worthy since they will have faced combined 2-8 teams(including Highlands who did get running clocked)?
  8. Having seen both teams play, I think Ryle's depth plays a major role. It happened in both the Lex Cath and Cov Cath game. They are deep with talent and can wear you down. If Highlands decides to play guys both ways, it may keep game close but in end it will be tough to play 20 against 36-40. Ryle pulls away for 14 pt win.
