It looked like a NewCath palyer was hurt and didn't play. I can't remember his name. Is he out for the rest of the year? If I remember correctly, he played significant minutes. How will that impact the next game?
Response to Malachicrunch: "36th is a blind draw. Last season the two top teams drew each other in the 1st round. It's a joke."
I don't think that is accurate about the top two teams drawing each other in the first round last year in the 36th. NCC and Highlands met in the second round but by looking at the records the top two teams in the District last year were Newport and NCC (by overall record since the district records were the same).
*Newport was 29-6 (district 3-1) - beat Highlands and Dayton. Lost to NCC. DNP Bellevue.
*Highlands was 14-10 (district 3-1) - beat NCC. Lost to Newport. DNP Dayton or Bellevue.
*NCC was 19-8 (3-1) - beat Newport. Lost to Highlands. DNP Dayton or Bellevue.
* According to the KHSAA website.
Holmes dominated the 4th quarter. It was 54-49 at the end of the 3rd quarter. This was a very good game (closer than the score indicates). Newport deserves much credit since they lost everyone from last year. I went to this game thinking it would be over in the 1st quarter. To have a close game at the end of the 3rd was surprising. Newport ran out of gas and options in the 4th quarter.
