article Six Degrees of Basketball Separation
RoundBallFanatic replied to 15th Region's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
I know I am late to the party but just now saw this thread and really thought it was cool so I wanted to play. Ha Ha Here goes.... Carson Williams as a freshman played against Cordia coached by Rod Rhodes and Rhodes played against Kobe in the NBA. 1. Carson 2. Rhodes 3. Kobe Shortest chain I could find. Once again thought this was a fun thread. -

Watched a video on IHigh but the video was way too grainy to tell one way or the other. I will say that neither of the two officials on the camera shot signaled a 3 pointer. You can't see the other official. The scoreboard on IHigh shows tie game then officials huddle up and then come out and signal a 3. Anyone got a better video? -
8th Region Stretch Drive
RoundBallFanatic replied to retropop's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
That very well could be. But if that is the case there isn't much difference between #1 and #5. This region is wide open and to think anything different is competely naive. That is why people continue to talk about Owen and Collins having a shot and to dismiss them would be making a big mistake. -

South Oldham 65 Gallatin County 63
RoundBallFanatic replied to GatorFan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
This should've been a no call plain and simple. There was no contact at all when the shot was released. If there was any contact at all it came as Jackson was coming down and kicked his leg out ala Reggie Miller. The contact did not effect the shot at all and the official should have let the players settled the outcome in overtime. A good officiating crew is the one in which no one knows that they were even part of the game. Everyone left the gym last night talking about the officials instead of a group of kids from both teams that left their hearts and souls out there on the floor. That is the real shame of it all!!!! -
North Oldham Basketball Coach Search
RoundBallFanatic replied to jc42's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
This is getting to be a little ridiculous. What is that now 4 coaches gone in the short time that they have been a school? Any coach would have to think long and hard about this situation before being committed to a place that seems to have a hard time committing to their coaches. -
8th Region All Region Team

I would say that most if not all the coaches have seen every team play more than once. Scouting is an essential part of coaching and there has never been a game that I have attended that other coaches were not in attendance. -
Shelby County 74 South Oldham 53
RoundBallFanatic replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
North Oldham has also played a very difficult schedule. When you play their style of play against superior opponents the scoreboard is going to light up. The one thing you can't argue about North is that they play hard for 32 minutes. -
Walton Verona 40 Owen County 30
RoundBallFanatic replied to Tiger1's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
This game can be summed up by the simplest of assessments. Walton made shots and Owen did not and that is the name of the game. -
Gallatin County 41 Williamstown 39
RoundBallFanatic replied to GatorFan's topic in KY Girls Basketball (High School)
Gallatin was ripe for the pickin last night but Williamstown could not cash in on the numerous opportunities that they had. Gallatin will need to play much better if they are to make a repeat trip to Richmond. -

Tough to beat Shelby playing fast. Kind of a catch 22 for South who also plays fast. -
Henry Clay's Hammond fired
RoundBallFanatic replied to jahearme's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Well see how foolish this is. In his tenure as head coach 52 players have gone on to play college ball and 6 have played professionally. -

I do not agree that KBA or any other organization offers more exposure than the Henry Clay baseball program. They have always played a top notch summer schedule and there have been numerous players play both at the college level as well as professional. I do not have the numbers in front of me but I would say that Henry Clay has sent as many baseball players to college under Coach Hammond as any team in the city and maybe even the state. -

Although I do not agree with wanting a kid to have to sit out I can see Coach Hammond's frustration as he has had several kids "transfer" away. Most after playing or being involved in another summer ball organization.
