  1. Russell's ponies are still growing whereas Elliott's horses are ready for Churchhill Downs...this one won't be very close, I'm afraid...Congrats to Russell on shocking us all and getting to Morehead...that will do nothing but help, no matter who they are playing..
  2. Thanks for finding that Carson...I just checked that site out and there is some funny stuff...I recommend it to anyone who asks...
  3. Congrats to the Cats. This is a big win and confidence builder for the cats.
  4. I too find it hard to believe that someone would question the credibility of a girl when they have only seen her play once. That would be like me saying I seen Michael Jordan get torched for 37 by a young unknown player, LaBradford Smith for the Washington Bullets and coming to the conclusion that Michael Jordan wasn't a very good defender. Even though he was named to the NBA all defensive team 9 times.
  5. There were also times when Raceland girls would clearly foul some of the Bath Co. girls and there were no calls. I understand that the officiating wasn't great but they let them play. Raceland tends to struggle when teams are being physical with them, because with the exception of Vanderhoof, most do not like contact. But about the 6 girls being onthe court, the ball was in play, just not shot yet when Keeton was still on the floor. That is still a penalty that should have been enforced.
  6. I enjoyed watching the games tonight because the officials allowed the girls to play. There were times when the play was getting somewhat rough but never out of hand. I feel for the ladies at Bath Co., they played their hearts out. They left everything that they had out on the floor. Hats off to them. I hate to see kids work so hard just to be strip of an oppurtunity to win because of someone else's mistake.
  7. Well, Annabel lee, I guess you have your idea of what class is, and I have my idea of what class is.
  8. Rowan and Ashland have proved that they can lose to weaker teams??? These two teams have a combined loss total of 1 within the 16th region. Also, if we are talking about teams record determining their strength, East Carter is the weakest team that Ashland lost to, and they are an 18 game winner this season. All of the other teams that beat the Kittens recorded 20 wins or more. Rowan County lost to no one in the region and 5 games overall. Sacred Heart (18-12), Shelby County (21-8), Lafayette (20-9), GRC (13-16), North Hardin (22-7). And the loss to GRC was only by 2, and towards the end of the season the ladies at GRC defeated the 63rd district champion, Raceland by 50. I am not for sure that I would call any of these teams weak. But I will agree with you in that this tournament should be great and very competitive.
  9. Lady Rams are all class??? Are we talking about the program in general?or just the players? After watching the halftime activity from coaches on both teams staff in the first round, and hearing what that was about, you can't tell me that the Lady rams are class.
  10. I was there. Very classy move by Kidwell and his coaching staff. His girls played hard and showed a lot of repect for the girl's from Greenup. Russell should be in the Super 7. Kidwell used the time in the 2nd half to get his younger girls some experience. Once again a very classy move by the Russell coaching staff.
  11. Sara Sexton is starting at Transy. She is the leading scorer and leading the team in field goal percentage and free throw percentage.
  12. Stickymitts, I agree. Play the game and if you don't win go home. It wasn't your year. If you think about it, it might save your athletic program some money in the long run. They won't have to pay for transportation an extra week. The playoff system in KY has never been set up for the "best teams" to reach the final. Should we set-up the play-offs like other states. Just let the top 10 teams play. KY play-offs in football, basketball, and baseball are great, in that they give "ALL" schools the oppertunity to play and win a championship. Just show up and bring your "A game" every week and win. Good luck in the playoffs.
  13. Then teams like Raceland and Fairview wouldn't have the oppertunity to play the likes of Ashland, Greenup, Boyd, etc. I like the match-ups of the area schools: small vs big. It adds to the season when the big schools get knocked off. Boyd is playing well and sometimes you just run into games like this. Good luck to Fairview and Boyd in the playoffs.
