I am afraid the highlight of the night was the National Anthem. Lauren Mink, who has made the first step in American Idol, brought tears to my eyes and a chill down my spine at the same time! She has a powerful and beautiful voice. The game was pretty good too!:D[/QUOT

I agree, it was great.

You have my vote too. Ms Minks singing wad powerful, clear, and electric.

I thought Grays basket & Howes play were the best part of the day.

Agree on Ms Mink, gave me cold chills to hear her sing. So thrilled that our seniors had such a good game yesterday. I watched the bench when Howe made those shots and also the basket by Gray, such great chemistry in this team.

Seniors lift Clark over South Laurel

http://www.centralkynews.com/winchestersun/sports/ws-prep-basketball-seniors-lift-clark-over-south-laurel-20120206,0,6915910.story

“It’s good to get the victory on senior day, and I’m so happy for our seniors,” he beamed. “They all bought in, checked their egos at the door, accepted their roles and have brought the effort from day one. Andrew (Howe) played an outstanding game. He’s worked so hard and meant so much to us in practice, as has Trevor (Gray) and Tyler (Carrier). We wouldn’t be where we are today without them. Charlie’s matured into a man since last season. Taylor’s been the most pleasant surprise — he has a knack for always being around the ball — Dominic (VanCleve) has taken ownership of our defense. And as for Adam and Bopper, what hasn’t already been said about their leadership?”

With the hectic part of the schedule finally in the rear view mirror (six games in the past 12 days), all the attention shifts to the stretch run.

“We’ve set it up perfectly from this point forward, with five days to get ready for the first (Simon Kenton) of three tough opponents (to close out regular season play),” Humphrey said. “We’ll use the next two weeks to polish things up and try to have all cylinders running by toward tournament time.”

Next game: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Simon Kenton.
