Goldie, always a wonderful pleasure to see you. Mrs MNCM say she will come to a game soon.

Thought the entire foul-plagued game was ugly. GRC didn't pull out to 8+ until well into the 3rd qrt. Got hit out of position on at least breadaways that led to points. Ford for Harrison was great, but GRC's control of tempo kept in it all in line.

Great win for the Cards as they get ready for Montgomery Co in 3 days.

Always good to see you and your dad too. Sloppy game for the Cards, but a win is a win.

Definitely ugly but as stated above a win is a win.

Can anyone give Harrison even a little credit for playing an excellent game against a quality opponent?

Yes, they sure controlled the tempo the first half. Good strategy by Harrison Co ,but made it a boring game to watch. I don't think it was that sloppy but there were a lot of fouls called and it seemed kinda rough at times where I thought more fouls should have been called. Rough play makes things look sloppy. Ford kid is a handful, nice player and Stenzel for Clark played well. Howard and Roberts hit some big shots in the second half. Fatkin was covered from both sides and from the back whenever his hands touched the ball. Harrison Co did a good defensive job on him.

Prep Basketball: Cards push winning streak to 14 games

If you’re keeping count, the streak is at 14 for the George Rogers Clark boys basketball team.

The Cardinals kept their current winning streak alive with a 61-47 triumph over Harrison County Tuesday night at Norton Gymnasium and pushed Clark to within four games of reaching the 20-win plateau.

Harrison County scored 12 of the first 15 points and led 12-3 five minutes into the contest. Clark used an 8-0 run to pull to within 12-11 by the end the quarter.

Both teams fought through three lead changes in the second frame, but the last switch favored the Cards, resulting in a 23-20 advantage at the half. The score remained close until Clark’s Blake Roberts drilled a 3-pointer that provided a cushion between the two teams with two minutes left in the third quarter.

From that point on, Clark never trailed, while Harrison County couldn’t get any closer than three during the last two quarters.

Harrison County coach Mike Reitz said his team “competed for 32” minutes against the Cards, but failed to keep pace with Clark during the final eight minutes.

“We competed better tonight than we had the last two or three weeks,” said Reitz, Humphrey’s predecessor at Clark. “They’re just a good basketball team.”

Harrison has a nice team that can win some games in the regional. Their possession style offense kept this one close for quite awhile. It makes for an ugly game but it was effective. Thought Robert's three was the big play for GRC and finally opened up some breathing room.

Harrison lost the game at the FT line. Was very lopsided. HC was 3 of 6 and CC was like 22-26. Some of the FT's were due to TO's at the top of the key, but not all. Game was basically lost for HC in the second half when the fouls were 10-3 in the fourth quarter (Clark in double bonus) and then in typical fashion after game was basically decided, the refs started trying to even out the fouls. No excuse for HC, they've got to learn to handle people hand-checking, and steering the ball handlers. That's the way its called in the regional tourney as well.

Something I though Harrison execute well was the 1/2 to 3/4 court pass to score easy baskets over the Cards. They scored at least 10 points this way (with 8 going to Ford).
