The Purples deal Brossart their first loss on the year in the semifinals of the Lloyd Invitational. Bowling Green lost a placement game to Holy Cross, but have advanced to the finals anyway.

Brossart was down 10 at halftime and 9 much of the 4th quarter, but Bowling Green missed a lot of free throws to allow Brossart back in it. The Mustangs tied the game at 50 with just under a minute left in the game, but three sport star Scooter Hollis hit a floater in the lane with 20 seconds left to give Bowling Green the win.

Congrats to the Purples!!!

Brossart dug a 10 point hole in the second quarter when outscored 8 field-goals to 1. BG pushed the lead to 15 early in the third 35-20, and still led by 9 at the end of the third quarter. A missed slam-dunk by (I think) Jerome Hunter seemed to ignite the Mustangs who outscored the Purples 16-9 in the final stanza, but came up short 52-50 despite outscoring the Purples 32-24 in the second half, in an intense final minute.

Purples move on to face Holy Cross for the second time in this tournament in the championship game on Friday night at 8pm. Brossart will take on Clay County in the third place game. We will benefit from the experience and the intensity delivered by the Purples.

Question: The Bowling Green Purples wear an H on their warm-ups and an H on their game shorts. What is the signifigance of the H???

It stands for High School, just like Louisville Male's H. There's a lot of similarities between the two schools.

Actually the missed dunk was by Joseph Ayers.
