Game was tied at 10 after 1st quarter, Boone up 27-17 at half, NewCath up 38-36 after 3rd. NewCath took a 40-36 lead with the ball early in 4th then Boone scored 12 straight. NewCath could not answer Boone's size inside and Nicole Kiernan was a non-factor tonight. Alex Schalk for NewCath lead the 3rd quarter comeback drilling a few 3's. NewCath senior starter Jamie Kohls out with illness. Moss was a beast tonight at half she had 11 pts - 11 boards and finished with at least 22 pts. NewCath had many chances but came up short as did the JV who lost 31-29. Two very entertaining games this evening. Had the pleasure of sitting with Sydney Moss's grandfather, enjoyed our conversations.

Typical Boone- NCC game, tough defense, swings in momentum, close almost regardless of any talent edge. Coach Dawn does such a good job of teaching his girls to run their offense, patiently, and finally finding a good shot. With the score tied at 40, Sydney Moss imposed her will for three straight buckets to give Boone a 6 point margin they had to fight to hang on to. Unofficially she had 21 points, 17 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and 2 steals. The Ninth is in faor another interesting year!

Briann Popp started at the 2. Murphy and frosh guard Alexis Switzer playes a lot of minutes for Boone.

I was at the game. Moss is certainly tough. I love the tenactity she shows when going after a rebound.

 

I really like Jones, the PG for Boone. She's quick as ever. If her teammates had some better hands, she'd walk away with quite a few more assists.

 

NCC sure did get hot in that third quarter.
