Final from Erlanger. Really a very sloppy game. Holmes held the lead most of the way and was consistently ahead by 10 or more early in the second half. Both teams played man to man/ trapping full court press the whole game. The Juggernauts are very athletic and their quickness bothered Holmes at time. Rice probably had a quiet 20+ but disappears for

periods of the game. This Holmes team is not as good at this point as last year's team. They do not have anyone that can finish like Gray or shoot like Hayes. They play hard and will defend very well. Their defense will keep them in most

games. They shot better tonight both from the perimeter and FT line.

 

Tyler Bray is a beast on defense for Lloyd. He blocked 5-6 shots. Not much of a thereat offensively, but decent enough.

Defensively he can jump out of the gym (he received his state championship high jump ring before the game). He is a

top big man in the region that may be a little down this year with big men. Hall is a nice player for the Juggs, also. They will not be an easy out.

Colston played most of the game and really pretty well. He took an elbow early in the second half and lost his cool for a while, but got it back together. He really didn't take many shots, he distributed the ball and ran the offense with Palmer. Lloyd really came out and got him. Lloyd did not sit back in a zone in the paint,

which I believe most tems will do. Colston is not yet in basketball shape, he'll be fine. He didn't appear to be in the dog house. If Rice plays a total game he'll get 30+ in most games. Watching the game you just don't realize he is scoring as much as he is. Like most teams this time of year, they are a long ways from being where they need to be.

Thanks for the update. I hate assuming but it happens when you arent at the game and you expect a certain kid to be scoring. The kid is a very nice 2 sport star and he will get his basketball legs soon and be a very good backcourt mate to Palmer.
