Boone won their first game at Ryle in OT. First game for the Camels. Should be a good one.

Camels win 66-60.

Thoughts?

Boone County has a nice mix of good, slashing guards and sturdy inside players. They can also really light it up from downtown.

We (Brossart) scrimmaged them a couple of weeks back fairly evenly, but Boone County was the better team on that night.

It will be interesting to see how the Camels do at Boone. If they can stay with the Rebels for four quarters, my hat will be off to them.

On the surface it appears to me that Boone has a decided edge in this one.

After having seen both teams play recently, Boone twice (scrimmage and vs. Ryle) and Campbell multiple times (scrimmages), this game comes down to who owns the boards. In my opinion, that will be Campbell. Boone has no one that is a tough-minded, I'm going to go get the ball, rebounder. While Boone will try to push the tempo, they also only play 6, maybe 7 (for a very few minutes). Being that it's at Boone, I think it will be a 1 point game, with the edge going to the Camels. 68-67.

I will be curious to see what D Boone plays. They are now a small team with their only big being Zane M and he's not a traditional big. Boone played/started 3 PGs against Colerain and another kid who looks like a 2 or a 3 played the 4. If you have a kid with size that can also put the ball on the floor that can be a matchup problem for Boone if they play man.

Who guards McGovney?

That will be Boone's biggest issue, but Campbell can't leave Zane. I'm guessing Boone utilizes more of it's 3/4 court zone press or it's 1-3-1 half court zone against Campbell. I will be surprised if they play much M2M.
