Maybe the Bellevue coaches were playing to win. Maybe they have also watched film and seen that Frankfort has score points in bunches this year.

 

Don't let watching film confuse you. Film don't always tell the full picture.

 

I understand what you are saying, but in my opinion they had already played to win and were winning. I didn't even see any film. This all based off of descriptions of the situation. I wasn't saying go into a prevent either. I'm not a fan of that at any level in any sport. I was simply talking about having faith in your defense and going for it. At that point, your defense had only given up 6pts.

 

I do realize that it may have been a lot closer than the score and Bellevue felt they couldn't hold on by playing safe. If you were there, then tell me. If Bellevue gets the first down (not necessarily score), is the game likely over?

It was 4th and 7. Bellevue was inside the 20 I believe. The pass had been there for most of the night with Frankfort playing aggressively at the LOS. The play wasn't a bad call just came out as a bad result. IMO the quarterback could have run for the 1st but he decided to throw which again wasnt a bad decision the WR was open underneath with the D covering overtop, unfortunately for Bellevue it was overthrown and picked for a TD. With the benefit of hindsight a lot of things could have happened differently, but that was the game changer. After that Frankfort had all the momentum and Bellevue seemed to wear down. It was a great football game and someone had to win. Congrats to Frankfort and good luck, as well congrats to Bellevue on a good season. It was a tough loss for the seniors and they all played hard. Hopefully they learn from this in the off season and build off of it.

What a way to go out. However, I know that the Tigers and Tiger Fans are proud. What a turn around from the cluster it was last year. Frankfort, mad props on your comeback. Any team down that much in the 4th and still finding a way to climb back and win is deserving of moving on. Great job Pnathers.
