Philip Haywood wins #346 in the most fitting way possible. His Pirates run his offense to perfection en route to well over 400 yards and he calls off the dogs to respect his opponent at the end.

Meanwhile, John Chapman may be the most classless HC in the state as he walks off the field and doesn't even go to shake Haywood's hand.

First of all, congratulations to Coach Philip Haywood and the entire Belfry program. We are blessed to have you Coach.

What a great night of high school football. There was electricity in the air, the crowd was huge and very into the game. The Hawks moved the ball well on Belfry, but killed themselves with turnovers at very inopportune times. Belfry was the better team, but not by the margin of the final score, IMO.

And lastly Pike Central Coach John Chapman shows a complete lack of class and sportsmanship. Other than the fact that the Hawks got their tails kicked, there was no reason for them to refuse to shake hands. Coach Chapman tucked his tail like a whipped pup and walked off the field and had his players do the same. How lucky the parents at Pike Central are to have their sons learn from such a quality, upstanding individual as John Chapman. What a loser.

Totally Agree... it was a classless act... Chapman needs to learn from Haywood that teaching the right thing is always superior to wins and losses. In the long run no matter how many wins Haywood ends up with, he will be remembered as much for his sportsmanship as for his wins, and that right there tells you all you need to know about him. Congrats Coach Haywood!..

Why wouldn't he shake the Belfry coach's hand after the game?

Who knows, JB? He is not known for his strength of character. Sore loser is my best guess along with a strong case of big fat baby.

That sounds like classless character. Congrats to Coach Haywood.

Congrats as well to Coach Haywood. This is quite an accomplishment!

Very nice tribute last night on Sports Overtime.

That is terrible. PC's Principal and Atheltic Director should issue an apology and congratulatory remarks to Coach Haywood and reprimend Chapman. I am embarrased for PC's administrations and fans. It is shameful. If I lost to Haywood on this night I couldn't wait to congratulate him for such an accomplishment and I am not talking about the wins only but how he got those wins; work, intergrity, character, in other words the RIGHT way. Heck if I lost to him on any night I couldn't wait to shake his hand on repping Kentucky High School football the right way.

Chapman you owe this man an apology! You owe it to your school, parents and players. PC does not deserve this kind of representation from their Head Football coach.
