Final

Congratulations to Scott County. Based on what's happened so far throughout the state's 6A class, is it pretty safe to assume that Scott County will play Trinity for the title or is there potential for others?

No. 6 Scott Co. 48, Henry Clay 7: Dierrius Dumphord and Kevo Edwards scored two rushing touchdowns apiece to lead Scott County (7-0) to a rout at Henry Clay.

The Cardinals totaled 351 yards on the ground and were led by Josh Walls, who ran for 114 yards and one score. Dumphord and Edwards ran for 76 and 72 yards, respectively.

And those numbers don't reflect Ben Lawler's 84 yard "TD" run and a second 43 yard "TD" pass that were both called back on holding calls. Scott County really dominated both sides of the ball. Henry Clay rallied offensively a few times, but Scott County's defense kept shutting them down before they got to the red zone.

Thanks for the additional info!!

What's going on with HC. No way that there isn't talent in those halls that should be able to compete week in and week out.

Think it's just a down year. They're missing some good players that the team was really counting on this season. When that gets into kids' heads compounded by a few losses, a team can spiral downhill quitely and it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The obvious loss is Vinny Miller off the team. Evander Harris, their best WR and a really good safety and punter, is out for the season following knee surgery this week (PCL and meniscus). Charles McCarthy, 2010 all-city LB, was out sick last night. They don't have as much speed this year as they normally do. Probably other contributing factors, but I'm sure the program will bounce back.

Miller is off the team?

Yes. Don't know why.

Congrats to the Cardinals.

What has happened to Henry Clay?
