Congrats to Coach Wallace and the Purples! I bet Purplehaze is fired up!

You bet I am, stick!! I'm ecstatic for my old friend/adversary (he played at Warren East when I was at BGHS!)!! There have been a couple of other times where I thought he deserved more consideration for it, but he sure got his due this season. The loss to LexCath notwithstanding, he and Alma Mater had a GREAT season this year with no reason to hang their heads. I'm proud of each and every one of them! There were so many individual and team records set this year by a very prolific team. The scary thing about it all is that we have so many of our best players coming back next season, with Stuart Hines leading the way on offense and LBs Tucker Jackson and Chris Tucker hitting the good licks on defense! Avery Hibbitt is back, and so will be Ryan Beard at DB and Casey Tinius at K. Kevin's cupboard will hardly be bare come next season!!

Uh-oh...there's that tremble again...could it be? Is it? YES, IT IS!!! I'm twistin'!!! :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa :dancingpa

By the way, folks, they played an interview with Coach Sphire before the game was played on our local station, WBGN-AM. In it, I found out that he and I have a common thread! That's right! I found out that he played ball at Meade County in his youth. His coach was Wilson Sears. Well, take a wild guess who was MY coach at BGHS!! That's right, Coach Sears coached both of us in high school! One night, when I was a soph, we had a fellow, college age, who was wearing a Meade County letter jacket. I can't help but wonder if that was the eventual Coach Sphire who came into our locker room!

You can bet that Kevin, his staff, and the returning players will be working furiously hard to get ready for 2006, and I can hardly wait!! Nice going, Old Friend!! :thumb:

Purplehaze, I bet it probably was Coach Sphire who visited your lockeroom because he ended up coaching for 2 years at WKU with Coach Jimmy Feix as a grad assistant. He feels that his two years coaching at WKU as a young coach were invaluable in preparing him to be a head coach, and I know he has great respect for Coach Feix as a person, a coach, and as a mentor.

Definately a great season, very deserving coach.
