Yes, Branden is very good. He has been double teamed all year. Next week versus cooper should be fun. I predict a big game by the big boys up front. Dixie by 20.

Branden Johnson is a beast and basically can't be blocked..I remember him when he played for the Raiders..

Actually IMO the CovCath O-line until Lonneman #72 got hurt (sprained ankle), did a good job of neutralizing him (Dixie #75) but once he #72 went down for CovCath, Dixie #75 couldn't be stopped.

I agree, I did not think Johnson was a factor until after Lonneman left the game.

One kid is not blocking him..Either you double team him or he eventually will do his thing..

Agree. I was at the game. Lonneman (DT) was shoved around pretty good by Johnson©. On defense, johnson was doubled all game. That's when 11(Hedger) stepped up. As long as teams focus on him, the others will bring the pain.

From what I gathered:

Dixie had about 240 yards total offense with close to half of that coming on 3 or 4 plays.

Dixie's Johnson dominated my guy Lonny when Johnson was on offense but Lonny more than held his own when it was reversed.

CCH did not double team. They use a zone-blocking scheme which means that, yes, the center did make contact with Johnson but that was while he was on his way to get to the next level of defenders.

Dixie's QB caused the most problems for CCH.

26 was also a problem.

Key was CCH 1st and goal from the 1 with Lonny out and then they end up 4th and goal from about the 10 to 15. Pass dropped in the end zone.

Great run by Dixie's QB on the TD.

Two solid teams.

On Moore's 53 yard run, Dixie caught CovCath's defense in the middle of a switch.

CovCath had been late a couple of times earlier.

So your telling me CCH's counter's and power plays are ran with a zone scheme?
