Well, I started this thread to hopefully get some GC and Fairview people posting. There were posters/fans from both on here in the past. I am as guilty as anyone on getting off track. Maybe someone will pick up conversation on the game next week. I made a mistake on the date/week of the game.

Let's just be realistic . My musketeers will be lucky if they win a single game this year . So far the new coach has not been able to put a complete package on the field . I think he writes a position on the board and draws a name out of a hat . It is difficult to post on these threads when you just don't have any fire power left . I wish I could talk smack like the rest of you , but the truth is our football team is getting smacked around enough . I wish all the area teams the best of luck this year and I hope my musketeers will continue fighting through this difficult year . I think it's about time to face reality and start filling the schedule with teams that have the same losing program as us , so we can at least keep the scores close . This shouldn't be about the adult egos , but about the kids having great high school football memories .

 

I agree its been a rough season, but when you are a 4a football team and you barely have over 30 kids thats a problem. Are you there every day with the kids, and know who can actually play?, and at one time this year (raceland game) we had 3 out of the starting O line out, half the backfield and both of our starting DE out. I played on probley the worst raceland teams in history, i know how it feels. But all the teams that ran the score up, payback is a dish best served cold and it will happen. Just like were down this year, might be you next year. Chris is going to be a great coach, and the comment about picking the names out of a hat? You must know nothing about this team.

First of all, welcome to BGP's. Secondly, IF that running up the score comment is directed at Raceland, you my friend are not well versed in football. Raceland played a JV team the entire 4th qtr and mixed and matched for a lot of the 3rd qtr. IF Coach Maynard wanted to run the score up on GC, you would not have scored and we definitely would have scored waaaayyyy more than 42 points. Let's face it, when your team is devastated with injury, poor judgement (fighting/ejections), lack of depth and talent, you are going to get beat and beat well. I am not aware of any coaches that have decided to retaliate against GC for running up the score last year. Remember, last year's great team at GC was 5-6 and ousted in round 1 of the playoffs. Not what I would call a great year.

:thumb::thumb: Not to mention there was no one from Raceland on here going on about GC hanging 60 on the Rams the year before. When we get it handed back to us like GC did in 2010 we acknowledge it and give congrats to the opponet. I'm just sayin'......

:lol: Doc, I wasn't going to post again on this one but I just had to give you back up, although you did well and didn't need it.

Ok, I was not on the coaching staff last year, but its pretty consistent that Copley was not well liked, and now I know why. But correct me if I'm wrong, GC didnt play Fairview last year, and of all the schools in the area, Fairview should know how it feels to have the score ran up. 4th and 3 with 23 seconds left in the quater, 28-0, and go for it? well Mcpeak got what he deserved. I will never be a fan of running the score up, Randy Vanderhoof taught me high school football and I teach the GC football players the exact same way.
