theguru Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Only losing to Ironton by 6 is a moral victory, right?
spindoc Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 The fact that it was at Tank Memorial makes this even more impressive, if a loss can be viewed that way.

sports fan Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Losing by 6 should make for a better mindset for the next week of practice relative to getting drilled.
GameofLife Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Oh man. I hate that saying. Not familiar with the game, but i will agree with sports fan. A loss is a loss, but practice usually is a lot harder the week following a spanking.
sports fan Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Agreed. The term "moral victory" is just a polite, politically correct term for a "loss". But to reiterate, it is easier to lace up the pads on Monday after a one possession loss to a good team relative to to having a running clock hung on you.
spindoc Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 From all reports, they were knocking on the door and just came up short on 4th and 2 with the clock running out.
Big Slick Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 Crossing the river and losing at the Tank by less than a TD with a chance to win is a moral victory.
