George Rogers Clark 2011/2012

Featured Replies

Basketball season for 2011/2012 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from George Rogers Clark? Remember, please be constructive.

Probably a weaker schedule, less pressure, but at the end I believe they will be in the thick of it all again.

Agree with you. We return 1 starter in Bopper Stenzel. Lack of experience at the varsity level is what the Cards will face this year. Look for Stenzel, Fatkin, and Rogers to start. Others ...will have to wait and see, it could be Gray, Roberts, Washington, Vancleeve and/or Howe, I would think, would be the front runners. GRC's JV only lost either 3 or 4 games last year against a brutal schedule, and none in the 10th region to my knowledge. GRC may take some lumps during the regular season, but come tourney time you may be seeing the Cards cutting now the nets again.

One thing this years team has an advantage of is they have had to practice against ,the last several years, the likes of Zollo, Cory Rogers, Robbie Stenzel, Daniels and Purvis.

No state wide expectations will make this season a lot less stressful on the Cards and Coach Humphrey.

They did lose a lot of Seniors from last year. But I remember how strong and big the incoming Seniors were their freshman year. Shocked to see only 1 Jr on the roster from last year? I'm thinking they may take a while to get it together, but they should be fine by the end of the year.

Last years team was mostly Seniors...9 and Juniors, not much room for a Sophomore on varsity. Sophomores played JV.

Clark County should be one of about six teams that could win the 10th Region next year. Pick a name out of hat. The 10th should be wide open, with Montgomery, Pendleton, and Harrison being the preseason frontrunners IMO.

Agree that the 10th is wide open this year. Should be a very interesting regional tourney this year.......you always seem to have some suprises.

Clark Co will have talent that can compete for the Regional Title. They will have to jell together from the beginning to get that rythm that great teams have. Pendleton, Montgomery, and what Mason can get to gethere this year will make for an interesting year.
