Obamacare...did you know

Featured Replies

Just make sure you blame this on Bush as well.

Far more rational than blaming Obamacare for premium increases that had been happening since before he was even a Senator.

No, I was making a point that the OP was blaming Obamacare for a premium increase when in reality most American's myself included had been experiencing double digit increases annually for the better part of a decade. So using the logic of the OP's then it couldn't be a coincendence that my premiums didn't go up the first year Obamacare was inacted, it's the reason I didn't have an increase. Sarcastic humor loses it's luster when you have to explain it.

Maybe you need to work on your reading comprehension. Where in my post did I blame Obamacare for the 12% increase we received?
The blame game goes both ways. Each party likes to blame everything on the other. Dems blame it all on Bush. Repubs blame it all on Clinton and Obama. Partisan politics is going to drive this nation right into the gutter.

I agree completely.

You could argue that and it wold be valid. You would argue it because it may make Obama look better. However, you would be the type of person that would turn around and complain that Bush spent way to much yet you wouldn't mention how much Obama spent/spending which is almost double. Purely partisan and like VOR said, it will make this country go in the gutter.

We were notified of some changes to our health coverage including a 12% increase. Also one change, due to Obamacare, that she made us aware of was this....

Health care reform changes – You can now cover dependents up to age 26 regardless of student status, regardless of whether you claim them as a dependent on your tax return, regardless if they are married, regardless if they have access to health insurance through their own employer. This only applies to health insurance.

It looks like my reading comprehension is just fine but if you weren't trying to make the case that this increase was due to changes brought about by Obamacare then maybe you should work on your writing skills so you can make your point more clearly.

You can save the grandstanding because you're as partisan as anyone on BGP. Pot meet kettle.

Your connecting dots that aren't there. You may think you reading comprehension is fine but your would be wrong. Not once did I say the increase was due to Obamacare nor did I imply it. Quit putting words in my mouth and get your facts straight.

Back track and insult all you like, it doesn't change the fact the what you wrote is there in black and white.

Your wrong, it's sad you can't admit you made a mistake and move on. Believe what you want but I will repeat so try to keep up...I did not blame the increase on Obamacare. I said the one change was because of Obamacare. Got it?

I love the condescending tone of your post. Again being meaner and trying to insult someone's intelligence doesn't change what you posted. Got it? If your post wasn't meant to at least suggest that the change in question didn't cause the increase then it wouldn't have been mentioned. If the title of your post was "Obamacare......did you know" then included only this.

I would buy it but as is I'm not. I fully expect you to again attempt some insult about my reading comprehension but it's really sad you just can't defend your postion and stand by your thread.

 What a joke. Seriously.

I'm a fan of Bill Clinton

I'm a huge fan of Bill Maher (who is on my DVR).

I don't support far right candidates such as Perry or Palin.

I will actually talk about what GWB did wrong such as spending too much.

I have praised Obama on his War on Terror and said if the economy was better I would consider voting for him.

I am for tax increases as long as its practical and spending cuts come with them.

I don't really care if homosexuals have the same rights as married couples

and I don't believe schools should sanction a public prayer at sporting events or any other events.

You on the other hand I'm sure you don't read Ann Coulter, you wouldn't dare vote for Reagan, Bush 1 or 2 or any other future ® President no matter how good the economy was doing. I'm sure you want tax increases with increased spending and and think everything that is wrong with our country is the GOP and private sector's fault.

Yes. I can see where putting me and you in the same partisan category really has its merit.

I love how you put words in my mouth. I defended my position on the age issue when I started the thread 5 months ago. You put words in my mouth and continue state I said something I didn't. If you can't read what I wrote and understand it that's not my problem. I included the increase because I was ticked about. I was more of a vent then anything. I don't play games with my posts, if I thought the increase was because of obamacare I would have it. Clear enough for you?

No I'd never read Ann Coulter, she is a reactionary baffoon. I do however read such liberal bastions as George Will, David Brooks, Peggy Noonan, Kathleen Parker and even Krauthammer from time to time even though that's generally for humor since he's closer to the Coulter postion. I think Mike Murphy is one of the smartest men in politics if you know who he is. I would have voted for Reagan over Carter and Bush 1 over Dukakis. I donated money to John McCain's primary campaign against W. Bush and would have voted for him. That was however before he broke far right in order to appeal to the anti-intellectual sector of the Republican party. I absolutley want taxes to be raised back to the progressive system we had decades ago so this country can repair things like roads, bridges, airports, provide food, shelter and medical care to the poor, disabled and elderly. I do think government spending is out of control but I have no problem with government spending that will have a nice ROI like infastructure and secondary education. Bridges to no where, planes that the military doesn't want, wars that didn't have to be fought is where the spending cuts should come from. Not from the few programs that help the less fortunate. I do not think that everything is the GOP's fault and some conservatives have some good ideas but they generally get shouted down as being RINO's. Some democrats are as much to blame as anyone. I think the OWS movment has grown out of the frustration that nothing has been done to help average Americans but everything was done to prop up Wall street because of all the ties it has with the Obama administration.

Have you cast a vote for a Democrate in your life?

I'm 19 and have voted in one election. I voted for Meg Whitman in the Governors race. So no. I haven't had the chance.

The link doesn't work and your partisanship depends on which thread you start? I'm pretty sure Clyde starts left leaning threads yet I would consider him bi-partisan. You seriously need to come up with a better argument.
