Why Do Blind Draws and Seeds For District Play

Featured Replies

The worest part of the softball season this year is not the rain but how the 2 best team in there distric are not going on to the region. Because some school don not like to seed they have a blind draw and now the team that ends second in the didtric tourneyment goes on to region no sense. This year HHS and NCC will play each other in the second round and knock each other out while Newport or Dayton will go to region.

Whats everyone thoughts on this.

This will remain the same unless the State steps in and puts a stop to it, don't blame the Schools, the state shoud have it one way not two. The Schools that vote each year to draw are thinking of the kids.

Majority rules so as long as Newport and Dayton have the chance of drawing each other and assuring one making the Region I totally support them. HOWEVER.... I totally agree with dennis12b. The STATE should make seeding no longer optional. That solves it period in all sports not just softball. That also makes the Regular season games mean more. If it means nothing why even play during the season.

Worst part about this is it weakens our regional tourney. More than likely one of these teams are going to face a really good team like Ryle, or St Henry in the first round. A blow out in the first round is no fun for either team.
