Cov Cath's Adam Shumate Signs With Hanover

Featured Replies

Congrats Adam. Hanover is a great school.

Ditto to this.:thumb:

Intangibles . Don't overlook intangibles.

Congratulations to Mr. Shumate.

Football isn't his game unless he's going to punt. He is a pitcher and that's what he should concentrate on year-round .

Seems some folks took the above the wrong way.

IMO Adam has a chance to be a strong pitcher in college IF he devotes himself to it full-time. As I said in the thread that was started in the baseball forum I think his best days are ahead of him. Why? He gets to devote himself to baseball WITH a team that has a pitching coach who can improve everything about Adam's game. Football IMO will stunt that development.

For whatever reason (and I don't know what that is) Adam has had much more success on the diamond than the gridiron. Logic says baseball is his best sport and I try to be logical.

I'd love nothing more than to see him go to Hanover and excel in both sports but that's really hard to do while trying to be a student as well. His academics are strong from what I hear so why take the chance? Enjoy baseball. It's a great time.

I, like many, will be rooting for him at Hanover.
