Hominick is no joke, very good fighter in that weight class probably the best after Aldo.

I've been impressed by him. I thought he might give Aldo a tough fight.

Also, one judge scored every round for Aldo. How on earth anyone could have scored the 5th round for Aldo is mind boggling.

Some judges never cease to amaze me, some I feel have never watched an MMA fight in their life. It's very rare that all three judges score the bout the way I normally do and sometimes it isn't even close. Hominick won the fifth hands down and although I wouldn't have scored it as such you could have argued for a 10-8. Aldo had him in his guard but Hominick was landing shots from that top position, for a minute I was wondering if Aldo was even going to be able to hang on. It was weird, seemed like at times Jose could have sprawled and got out of there. Just shows how comfortable he is on his back, instead of risking getting caught he kept welcoming Hominick back in his guard after taking a lot of shots from it. Still though at the time I couldn't figure out why he didn't try to scramble out, especially the times he had Hominick stood up with up kicks, guess he was just that tired, I don't know.

He was exhausted. I can't think of any other explanation. He may be comfortable on his back, but nobody is comfortable getting hit in the face for half a round.

Interestingly, one judge did score it 10-8 I believe. The final scores were, if I remember correctly, 49-46, 48-46, 50-43. Amazing that one guy can give Hominick a 10-8 round while another scores the same round for Aldo. Also, that judge had to have scored at least two of the round 10-8 for Aldo. Didn't see that either. Was his mother a judge?

Yeah I thought that was odd too when Buffer was reading off the scores. One was way off, I mean a -3 point difference in Hominicks score from the other judges cards is pretty significant. Thats why they always say if its a close fight you can never leave it up to the judges and that is the truth 100%. Don't get me wrong, some bouts are scored very good. Like the last Edgar/Maynard fight. I looked at my buddy who was watching and after the last round played out I told him it was going to be a draw. The way I had it scored was Maynard with a 10-8 in the first, then winning another round while Edgar won three rounds. Although only one judge had it scored that way the other two were split so it caused the fight to end up being a draw. None the less they all were pretty close in their scoring, so I can't say judges are always getting it wrong but they get it wrong a lot more than they do right from my eyes. What do we know though? We just watch MMA regularly and actually understand the sport, sadly I don't think some of these judges can even say the same from the way they score bouts. Worst I have ever saw was when Matt Hamil got robbed over in England, I mean I know it would have ruined Bisping's big triumphant return and all but Hamil owned him in that fight I felt but Bisping was awarded the decision (in England, who could have ever guessed). But that sticks out to me as by far the worst I have seen.

Jose had an infection in his toe and was taking heavy antibiotics before the fight. I know they said he looked horrible during the weigh ins. He's having a much harder time cutting the weight, so my guess is he moves up to 155 very shortly. I can't see anyone stopping him in the LW division either, but I'd give anything to see an Aldo/Penn matchup.
