Dirty Birds rally from down 8-2 in top 7 to tie it and then score 2 runs in the 8th for the win.

 

After scratching the ball around for 3 runs and the bases loaded with 2 outs, Coach Baioni pinch runs Colin Seidl at 1B. A drive to LF by Jake Liggett ends up dropping and Seidl beats the throw home to tie the game.

 

In the top of the 8th, Evan Allen battles for a hit up the middle. Nate Goetz doubles to the gap in LF. With runners on 2nd & 3rd, Eli Schultz fends off a high and inside pitch over his head to get down a suicide squeeze bringing Allen home. When St. Henry throws to 1B, Goetz never stops from 2B and beats the throw home.

 

Kevin Mason pitches a strong 8th to pick up the save. Jake Liggett gets the W in relief keeping St. Henry at bay long enough to allow the rally.

Wow!!! Keep battling Birds! Thanks for the re-cap jpa. Now if you can only give us the "good, bad, and ugly" and maybe a couple "plays" of the game for each game. Just kidding. We don't really need all the critical comments. Just a nice re-cap like you did. Seems to have been little reporting going on this year. Maybe you can take on that challenge!

Agreed, records mean absolutely nothing throughout the season with the exception a win here and there for a good dose of morale from time to time. The Birds have taken their lumps big time this yr so far and a comeback win like this one is a huge boost to a team that has struggled at times. A come from behind win like this one goes a very long way for confidence and gives the Birds some momentum and identity. Nice win Birds.

Great idea putting possibly the fastest sophomore in NKY on first to pinch run in Colin Seidl. Schultz getting the squeeze down is huge also. Way to go Birds.
