Congrats to the Vikings! They pride themselves on their defense, and it sounds like this one was no exception.

 

Sometimes when a team has a very bad shooting night, the opposing defense has a part in it.

 

Exactly right Papa, both Wayne County & Daviess County have poor shooting nights against the same opponent I am gonna give the Rowan County defense a little credit for these coincidental events.

Were you there? Papa wasn't. I can't say it was the defense when guys are missing wide open shots. That's all I am trying to say. Rowan County made a good percentage of their shots and Darrell Cross played a great game. Austin Shearer shot the ball poorly both nights at Rupp and he is counted on to score. If you were there you could see teammates feeding him a pass they make to him at the free throw line and even in warmups he missed that shot over and over and that is his bread and butter shot. Rowan County won the game convincingly for sure and looked to be the better team. I am not saying Wayne would have won had they shot the ball better. I just know I didn't see anything to suggest that Rowan's defense was the reason Wayne shot the ball so poorly. They ran their offense just as well yesterday as they have been all year. They are a jump shooting team and the jumpers weren't falling at all last night for anyone on the Cardinals.

What I saw was a team that hustled all night and moved well to the ball maybe that took it`s toll on the Wayne County shooting game.

Could be. I guess where most of their missed shots were unchallenged leads me to believe they were off shooting as opposed to the harassing defense making their shots be off.
