Newport advances past Dayton tonight to play Highlands on Wed night at Bellevue.

Earlier in the season the Birds handled the Wildcats at home by 16 points and Jack Stewart was out. Stewart is back for this matchup and the Wildcats will have a major task on their hands in defending Stewart and Towles on the post.

I expect the Birds to advance.

HHS 65

Newport 44

Highlands should win, but I think it could be closer than most think probably within 10.

Highlands should win this one by 20+. Too much size for Newport to handle.

Newport has some kids that can break you down on the dribble but getting to the rim and scoring will be difficult with 6'7 Stewart and 6'5 Towles.

Highlands has been preparing for this game since Saturday and intently. They are not taking them lightly at all so I would expect Stew/Crowley and the other 2 Sr's to be very hungry in not wanting their careers to end on Wed.

This is Highlands' game to lose. The Bluebirds by 15.
