This is a repost from the Basketball Thread made by SumoRoyal on 2/6/11.

Prayers from Harrison County for Coach Murpohy and his family. I know Coach Murphy more from the Baseball Field and there was not a more genuine enjoyable coach on the field. A true class act! May God be with Coach Murphy and his family during this difficult time.

Just found out within the last hour that Murph passed away.

Family man, friend, coach. Murph meant so much to the Mason County athletic program. Baseball coach, basketball timer, striped the football field and worked the games, drove the bus. One of the true faces of Mason County sports.

Please keep the family in your prayers.

They don't make too many men like Murph. He truly loved the game of baseball. I had the pleasure of both playing against him and coaching against him. I enjoyed the talks we had about the game. It was something that he was passionate about and he was always willing to offer an encouraging and uplifting word. He loved his family, the Mason County Royals and baseball. May God bless and watch over his family in their time of grief.

So sorry to hear of Coach Murphy's passing. My prayers go out to his family, friends, players and associates. May God bless his family as they deal with his passing.

Prayers and sympathy to his family and friends. I thank him for all the time and effort that he put forth. Often teachers and coaches put in hours of time that often go and unrecognized and without gratitude for their service. May he be in heaven and watch over the season this year.

May God Bless Coach Murphy and his family along with the Mason County Family. My prayer's and thought's are with you.JD
