Shouldn't really come as a surprise. South was undefeated at home and beat Jtown last year. Jtown also was without Price. And South plays a brand of ball that matches up well with Jeffersontown, and they are a terrific free throw shooting team. South also had the size inside to battle.

 

It's all about matchups, and South matched up pretty well with Jtown... But if you haven't seen South, you wouldn't necessarily know that...

Thanks Neerfan! That was Roger Frantz - who I just added as a play-by-play announcer for Pegasus (he's done color for me for a few years), and I thought he did very well last night. During the regular season, PSN covers the three Oldham schools and Anderson County, but we pride ourselves on calling it as we see it... Billy - the young man who did color commentary - is a sophomore at South Oldham HS and just getting his feet wet on the air. He's learning, but doing awfully well for one so young.

 

Hated to miss the game myself, but the two basketball teams I coach (12-14 year old and 15-17 year old rec teams) had practice last night. But I got home in time to listen to Roger's call from the middle of the third on...
