Coach Goetz called and said that Frankfort claimed they were over their limit on games. I was not aware there was a limit in the Commonwealth.

According to KHSAA handbook:

The season shall consist of a maximum of twenty-three (23)

games to be played prior to the beginning of KHSAA state

championship competition (district). A maximum of two

(2) tournaments may be included in any manner other than

counting each game played against the limit of twenty-three

(23) games. Any two tournaments played during the regular

season may be counted as one game per tournament against

the limit of twenty-three (23) provided that neither tournament

necessitates the team playing more than four (4) games. Any

game played over the limit of four in any one tournament shall

be counted against the limit of twenty-three (23) games.

And next year it changes again.

Coaches will only be allowed to schedule 28 regular season games. The part that will really hurt teams though, is no longer will tournaments with multiple games be able to be counted as just one game.

That really puts coaches in a bind as far as scheduling goes.

Based on the current rule, HC has four open spots on their schedule to fill their quota for games. Rescheduling Brossart is probably going to happen, but not until after the All "A."
