Carroll County 68 Cooper 62

Featured Replies

Carroll County Lady Panthers topped the Cooper Lady Jaguers 68 to 62. Carroll County had some great team work and we saw several girls stepping up to the plate. Hannah Devine had 35; Kyndall Curry had 17; and Jill Butcher and Tasha Hunter were great contributors both offensively and defensively. Younger girls got some playing time and several of them made points! Nice to see the teamwork and effort.

Nice win for the Lady Panthers. I have heard that Cooper is much improved.

Good win Panthers.. Keep it up!

Devine is a real nice player, plays smart and shoots well. They must not have scouted Carrol .

"They must not have scouted Carroll" I would think not. Most every team that knows Carroll, knows you have to stop Devine. She can absolutely fill it up. Last I heard she was averaging 25+ points a game. She is a nice player.

Actually, their defense was just not all that smothering. Devine struggled with her shot in the first half on open looks or she would have had 45.

It was not the best defensive game by CC either. They left a lot of shots open that they usually cover well. The Referee called this one very tight for a 8th region game. However, it was consistent both ways.

Devine struggled on offense in the first half uncharacteristically missing some wide open shots. I believe she was 1 for 15 for the half. Devine's teammates carried the scoring load in the half with Curry scoring in double figures, Hunter had a 3 and Freshman Makenzie Ogden and Makena Kindoll scored 1 and 2 points respectively. Carroll finished the first half with the lead. Devine found her shot in the second going something like 7 for 10 in the second half. Curry continued to score in the second finishing with 17 pts along with Andrea Hardesty with 6 pts and Brittany Arvin adding a bucket. Jill Butcher added a couple of free throws. What makes Carroll tough is they usually play pretty good defense and there are more girls that can score when needed.

Carroll always plays hard, and coach Medford always has his team well prepared.
